Design & Selection

Save 20%From above this looks like a plain band solitaire. Turn it to the side and there is a second ring entirely: two cathedral arches sweep up from the shank to meet the head, a hidden halo circles the base of the oval, and a curved bridge of pave runs between the arches underneath the stone. None of that is visible when the ring is worn flat, which is the appeal. The sparkle is there for the wearer and for anyone standing beside them, not for the person looking straight down. The high cathedral profile also lifts the head clear of the finger, so a wedding band sits flat against the shank with no gap. Made to order in Surat, India, in ten metals and four centre stone sizes.
The pave bridge is the detail that takes the longest. It is a curved bar of metal spanning the gap between the arches, and every stone in it has to be set on a curve while staying level with its neighbours, in a place most people never look. We set it anyway, because it is what you see whenever you glance at your own hand. The cathedral arches are not decoration either. They brace the head from both sides, which is why a high setting like this stays rigid over years of wear. The shank stays plain and polished at about 1.9 mm, deliberately left unset so the eye goes to the head and so the ring resizes easily. Every piece is finished by hand by our bench in Surat.
Moissanite is silicon carbide, not carbon, so it is a different material from a diamond rather than a lower grade of one. It measures 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond at 10, which makes it hard wearing and well suited to daily use. Its refractive index is higher than a diamond, so it returns more colored fire. That works in this ring's favour, because the hidden halo and the bridge sit in shadow under the stone and still catch light. This ring is sold as moissanite and is never described as a diamond.
Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, gives the strongest contrast between the warm arches and the colorless stones tucked inside them. White gold makes the hidden detail read as pure light. Rose gold is the softest of the three. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds small pave stones more securely over time, and 925 sterling silver is the most affordable way to try the design.
Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. We make US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes. The shank carries no stones, so a jeweller can resize the ring later without touching the setting. If you are unsure of your size, measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear or ask us for a free size guide.
We can add pave to the shoulders, remove the hidden halo, lower the cathedral profile, set the centre with a lab grown diamond or a colored moissanite, or make a matching plain or pave wedding band. Is this a moissanite ring or a diamond ring?
It is a moissanite engagement ring. The centre stone, the hidden halo and the bridge pave are all lab created moissanite, and the ring is sold as moissanite. We never describe it as a diamond.
What is a cathedral setting?
The two shoulders of the band rise in arches to meet the head, like the arches of a cathedral. It lifts the centre stone, adds strength on both sides of the setting, and creates the space underneath where the bridge pave sits.
What is the pave bridge under the stone?
A curved bar of metal running between the cathedral arches, set with small round moissanite. It is only visible from the side and from underneath, which is exactly the angle the wearer sees most.
Why choose this over a plain solitaire?
From the top it reads as a plain solitaire, so it stays classic. The hidden halo and bridge add detail from every other angle without making the ring look busy. If you want restraint on top and craft underneath, this is the design.
Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes. That is one of the advantages of a raised cathedral profile. The head sits high enough that a straight band tucks right against the shank with no gap.
Is a high setting more likely to catch?
It sits higher than a low profile ring, so it is more noticeable on the hand. The arches are smooth and rounded with nothing protruding, but if you work with your hands all day a lower setting is the easier choice.
Does moissanite scratch or cloud over time?
No. At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it resists scratching from ordinary contact, and its brilliance comes from the material itself rather than a coating.
How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. Turn the ring over and brush the underside of the head, since the hidden halo and the bridge are where residue collects. Rinse well and dry with a lint free cloth.
How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time. Every ring is cut and set only after it is ordered.
