This ring surrounds an emerald cut lab grown diamond with a halo of full sized round brilliant diamonds rather than the tiny micro pave stones most halos use, and continues the same idea down the shoulders in a graduated shared prong row.

The halo is what people notice first. Each round diamond is held between rounded bead prongs with an open space beneath it, so light passes right through the row. That is why the halo reads as a ring of separate bright stones circling the centre instead of a solid band of white metal, and it is also why the emerald cut in the middle keeps its own identity. A step cut is calm and mirror like, and setting it inside a row of brilliant cuts creates a deliberate contrast between the two kinds of light.

The shoulders repeat the halo in miniature. Round diamonds are shared prong set along the top of the band, largest at the setting and gradually smaller toward the back, with small gold beads sitting between them. Because the stones are shared prong rather than channel set, almost no metal shows from above and the band looks like a continuous line of diamonds.

Underneath, the shank stays plain and rounded so the ring is comfortable to wear all day, and the whole setting is kept slim so the centre stone remains the tallest point on the hand.

White gold and 925 sterling silver make the halo disappear into the diamonds for a very bright effect. Yellow and rose gold outline every stone instead, which gives the halo a clearly visible pattern.

Is the centre stone a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond is the same carbon crystal as a mined diamond, with the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same brilliance. Only its origin differs.

Is a certificate included?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost and lists carat weight, colour, clarity, measurements and laboratory grown origin.

How is this different from your other halo emerald cut rings?
Most halos use very small pave diamonds packed tightly around the stone. This halo uses full sized round brilliants held in bead prongs with open space underneath, so the halo is larger, brighter and clearly made of individual stones. The shoulders match it with graduated shared prong diamonds rather than pave.

Does a halo make the centre stone look bigger?
Yes. Because these halo stones are larger than usual, the overall outline of the ring is noticeably wider than the centre stone alone, so a 2 carat emerald cut wears like a considerably larger ring.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
The halo sits low, so a straight band will meet it closely at the sides. A gently contoured band gives the closest fit, and we can make one to match.

Is an emerald cut suitable for everyday wear?
Yes. Its corners are cut at an angle rather than left as points, the four claws sit over those corners, and the halo gives the girdle of the stone an extra layer of protection.

Which carat weight works best here?
All four are made for this setting. At 2 carat the halo stones are close in scale to the centre and the ring reads as a cluster. At 4 or 5 carat the centre clearly dominates and the halo becomes a bright outline around it.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Because the halo is open beneath the stones, brushing from the back is easy and keeps the diamonds bright.
