A comfort fit band is rounded on the inside as well as the outside, so it sits on a curved surface rather than on two square edges. It slides over the knuckle more easily, it does not pinch when your fingers swell, and once it is on you stop noticing it. For a ring you intend to wear every day for decades, that construction matters more than any decoration.

Outside, the shank is domed and mirror polished, of even width all the way round. The claws rise directly out of the band with no raised gallery, so the whole ring is one continuous curve from the finger up to the stone.

That plainness is the point. With a large step cut diamond and nothing else on the ring, every line has to be true, which is why we polish these by hand and check the shank for evenness before the stone goes in.

Band details

A medium weight shank that feels substantial without being wide. Because the inside is curved rather than flat, the ring wears a fraction looser than a standard fit at the same measurement, which most people find more comfortable.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. On a completely plain ring the metal colour is the only decision to make, so choose what you want to see every day.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What does comfort fit mean
The inside of the band is domed rather than flat, so less metal touches your finger and the ring passes over the knuckle more easily. It is the most comfortable construction for daily wear.

Should I size differently for comfort fit
Comfort fit usually feels a little looser than a flat interior at the same size, so if you are between sizes take the smaller one. Tell us and we will advise.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes, easily, in either direction. The band carries no stones. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other plain solitaires
Our tapered round band solitaire narrows toward the head and uses a squared basket. Our cathedral solitaire arches up on cut out shoulders. This one is a single even domed band with a comfort fit interior, made for wearing rather than for looking complicated.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes. The band is straight and the setting sits low, so a plain or eternity band sits neatly beside it.

Is it comfortable for daily wear
It is the most comfortable design we make. No pave to catch, no sharp edges, and a rounded interior.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow gold for warmth, white gold or sterling silver to make the diamond look as large as possible, rose gold for a softer tone.
