An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four slim claws on a band made from two rounded strands that separate at the shoulders, cross over one another with open space between them, and rejoin under the finger. There are no accent stones on this ring.

This is a looser twist than a rope band. The strands part company rather than staying wound tightly together, so you can see straight through the shoulders from the side. That open work is what keeps a solid gold band from looking heavy, and it throws a soft shadow across the finger that a plain shank never does.

Both strands are rounded in section and polished all the way round, including the inner faces you only see at an angle. Finishing the hidden surfaces is slow work and it is the difference between a twist that looks made and one that looks moulded.

The setting stays completely plain, four fine claws over an open gallery, so the emerald cut sits low with nothing under it. A step cut is a quiet stone and it reads best against quiet metal.

Band details

The strands merge into one rounded band under the finger, so the ring is light through the shoulders and solid where it takes wear. The inside is smooth and slightly domed.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white. With no stones on the band the metal is the design, so pick the colour you want to wear every day.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are there any small diamonds on the band
No. This design is deliberately all metal apart from the center stone.

Will the open shoulders collect dirt
Less than a closed setting, because you can rinse straight through the gaps. Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush is enough.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes. The strands rejoin into plain metal at the base, which is where a jeweller works. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other twisted band rings
Our braided rope band winds the strands tightly together all the way round. Our celtic knot ring adds knot work at the shoulders. This one lets the strands separate and leaves open space between them, so it is the airiest of the three.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes at the base, where the band is a single shank. Higher up the twist stands slightly away from the finger, which most people like.

Is it comfortable for daily wear
Very. There is no pave to catch, the edges are rounded, and the open shoulders keep the weight down.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow gold gives the twist warmth and shows the crossing clearly. White gold or sterling silver makes the band recede so the diamond dominates. Rose gold sits between the two.
