Moissanite & Lab Diamond Engagement Rings

Moissanite and lab grown diamond engagement rings, made to order in our own workshop in Surat in solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold or 925 sterling silver. You choose the shape, setting, carat and metal; we send a 3D CAD render of your exact ring, and nothing is cast until you approve it.

Where to start

Decide three things before you browse: the shape (round is the only one that comes with a graded cut; every other shape you judge yourself on video), the metal (warm gold lets you drop a colour grade, and never needs replating), and the shank thickness โ€” 1.8mm at the base for daily wear. Carat comes last, because the stone is the one part you can change later.

How to choose โ€” shapes, sizes and the specs that matter

Shape, and what each one actually costs you

Carat is a measure of weight, not size. Elongated shapes spread that weight into face-up area, which is why they look larger for the same carat โ€” and why round brilliants cost more per carat, since cutting one wastes more of the rough.

The four specifications to ask us for

Every ring here is made to order, which means these are still open until we cast โ€” and after casting they are permanent.

  1. Shank thickness at the base โ€” 1.8mm minimum, 2mm under a large stone. Width is cosmetic; thickness is what decides whether a ring needs bench work in year ten or year twenty.
  2. Profile height in millimetres, on a side elevation. Invisible in a top-down render, and it decides how much the ring catches and whether a wedding band meets it.
  3. An open gallery under the stone โ€” light enters from beneath, and it is the only way the pavilion can be cleaned.
  4. A euro shank if it will be worn daily โ€” a flattened underside that stops a top-heavy ring turning. Invisible, permanent, no maintenance.

Common questions

What is the difference between moissanite and a lab grown diamond?

A lab grown diamond is carbon, chemically and physically identical to a mined diamond, and comes with a grading report. Moissanite is silicon carbide โ€” its own gemstone โ€” and disperses light more than twice as strongly, at 0.104 against diamond's 0.044. Below about 3mm the two are hard to tell apart; above roughly 7mm moissanite's extra fire is unmistakable.

How do I know what size the ring should be?

Measure the inner diameter of an existing ring in millimetres and send us that figure rather than a size number. Five incompatible sizing systems are in use โ€” French and European sizes differ by exactly 40 and both are bare numbers โ€” so double conversion is the commonest cause of a ring that does not fit.

Which metal should I choose?

Yellow and rose gold reflect warmth into the stone, so an H or I colour grade reads white and you can spend the difference elsewhere. They also never need rhodium replating, which white gold requires every one to two years for the life of the ring. 14K is harder than 18K and holds its shape better under a heavy head.

How long does a made-to-order ring take?

Production runs roughly seven to eight days at the bench, plus transit, and we quote the two separately. If there is a fixed date, allow ten to twelve weeks โ€” a resize adds three to four weeks and a second customs journey each way, and that is what turns a comfortable timeline tight.

Can I change the design before it is made?

Yes, and this is the main advantage of buying from the workshop that makes the piece. Shank thickness, profile height, prong count and placement, gallery and finish are all CAD edits until the moment we cast. Ask and we will send a revised render.

Will I need a curved wedding band?

Most oval, pear, marquise and three-stone rings do, because the stone occupies the space a straight band wants. A contoured band is cut to one specific ring's profile, so one drawn alongside the ring from the same CAD file nests exactly while one ordered later does not. Tell us at the design stage.
