An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four ball tipped claws, with round accent diamonds set into milgrain edged panels along both shoulders and a hidden halo of small stones set into the collar beneath the center diamond.

The panels are shaped rather than straight. Each one narrows to a point where it meets its neighbour, so the accents sit in a run of pointed frames instead of a plain channel, and every frame is outlined in fine beading. It is a nineteenth century way of decorating a narrow band and it puts a lot of detail into very little metal.

The accents themselves alternate in size, larger stones in the wide part of each panel and smaller ones at the joins, which keeps the row from looking mechanical. All of it is set by hand and the milgrain is applied afterwards with a knurling wheel.

Under the center stone a hidden halo runs around the collar. From above the ring reads as a solitaire on a decorated band, and it is only in profile that the extra light appears.

Frequently asked questions

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a hidden halo
A ring of small diamonds set into the collar under the center stone. It is invisible from directly above and visible in profile, adding light under the stone without changing the outline of the ring.

Will the milgrain wear away
Only very slowly, and only on the high points. Avoid polishing cloths, which flatten beading faster than daily wear does. We can recut it during a service.

Can this ring be resized later
Within a size or two, using the plain metal underneath. Tell us your size as accurately as you can. First resizing is free.

How is this different from your other milgrain bands

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes. The band is straight and the setting is low, so a plain or milgrain edged band sits neatly beside it.

How do I clean it
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working gently along the beading and under the head where the hidden halo sits.

Which metal should I choose
Yellow gold for a true antique look, rose gold for something warmer, white gold or sterling silver if you want the pattern to read as texture rather than colour.
