An emerald cut lab grown diamond held in four claws above a band made of two solid gold strands wound around each other. There are no accent stones anywhere. The only diamond in the ring is the one you came for.

A twisted band works because of light rather than sparkle. As the two strands cross, the polished surfaces face in different directions, so the band throws a moving highlight along the finger even in dim light. It gives the ring warmth and movement that a plain round shank cannot.

Keeping the band free of stones was a deliberate decision. An emerald cut is a calm, mirror like stone, and it is at its most striking when nothing around it competes. A heavy gold twist gives the ring presence while leaving the diamond entirely alone at the top.

The strands join into a single smooth shank at the back of the finger for comfort, and the claws are slim and set at the four corners of the step cut so the table stays fully open.

Yellow gold, shown here, shows the twist most clearly because the highlights along each strand are so warm. White gold and 925 sterling silver make it cooler and more sculptural, and rose gold softens the whole ring.

Ring size is fully customisable. Choose your size at checkout or write to us with the size you need, including quarter sizes, half sizes and sizes outside the standard range. Since the back of this band is a single solid shank, resizing later is straightforward. If you are unsure, we will help you measure at home.

Every ring is made to order. You can request a different centre carat weight, a different colour or clarity grade, a coloured centre stone such as emerald or sapphire, diamonds set along one strand, a thicker or thinner twist, or an engraving inside the shank. Frequently asked questions

Is the centre stone a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same brilliance as a mined diamond. Only its origin differs.

Is a certificate included?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost and lists carat weight, colour, clarity, measurements and laboratory grown origin.

How is this different from your other twisted band emerald cut rings?
This one has no accent diamonds at all. Our other twists set stones along one or both strands. Here the band is pure polished metal, which makes the ring quieter, easier to clean and better value for the same centre stone size.

Does a plain band make the diamond look bigger?
Yes, in effect. With no accent stones nearby, nothing draws the eye away from the centre diamond, so it reads as the single focus of the ring.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
A straight band will touch the twist at its high points rather than lying perfectly flat. A matching twisted band or a contoured band fits best, and we can make either.

Is an emerald cut suitable for daily wear?
Yes. Its corners are cut at an angle rather than left as points, and the four claws sit directly over those corners.

Which carat weight suits this ring?
All four are made for it. With a plain band, the centre stone carries everything, so this design is a good choice if you want to put as much as possible into carat weight.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush along the grooves of the twist. With no pave to look after, this is one of the simplest rings we make to maintain.

How long does it take to make?
