An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four slim claws on a polished band with a row of round brilliants set French style down each shoulder.

French setting, sometimes called U cut pave, means the seat under each accent is cut away in a small U shape so the underside of every stone is open. That is a slower way to set than standard bead pave, and it is worth the extra work because light enters each diamond from below as well as from above. Seen from the side the shoulders read as a row of diamonds resting in scallops of metal rather than as a solid strip.

The accents here are also larger than typical micro pave, which suits a big center stone. Small pave next to a 4 or 5 carat emerald cut disappears. Stones at this size hold their own and keep the proportions of the ring correct.

Everything else is kept simple. Four fine claws, a low open basket, no halo, no engraving, and plain polished metal on the underside of the shank so the ring is comfortable and easy to size.

Band details

A slim rounded shank with the French set row on the upper half and plain polished metal underneath. The scalloped edge of the setting is finished smooth so nothing catches.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white and makes the pave read as continuous. Yellow and rose gold outline each accent individually, which shows the French cut outs clearly.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is French set pave
A setting where a small U shaped notch is cut under each accent so the stone is open underneath. More light reaches the diamond and less metal shows between the stones, which is why it looks brighter than standard bead pave.

Is French set pave secure
Yes. Each stone still sits in its own beads of metal at the top. The cut out is beneath the girdle, where it does not affect the hold. An annual check is sensible, as with any pave ring.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes, within a size or two, using the plain metal underneath. First resizing is free.

How is this different from your other pave rings
Our wide French pave hidden halo ring uses a broader band and adds diamonds under the stone. Our tapering pave ring uses smaller graduated stones. This design keeps a slim band with evenly sized French set accents and no halo.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes. The setting is low and the band is straight, so a plain or matching pave band sits neatly beside it.

How do I clean it
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. French set pave rinses through the cut outs, so it stays brighter than closed pave with the same amount of care.

Which metal should I choose
White gold or sterling silver for the brightest continuous line. Yellow or rose gold for warm contrast with each individual stone outlined.
