An emerald cut lab grown diamond sits at the centre of a band built from two heavy strands that wind around each other. One strand is left as plain polished gold, the other is set with round diamonds, and together they twist along the finger like rope.

What makes this design bold rather than delicate is the scale of the strands. Many twisted bands use two fine wires. Here both strands are substantial, so the band has real weight and the twist is clearly visible from every angle rather than being a subtle texture.

The diamonds on the set strand are shared prong, which means each pair of stones shares a small claw between them. Almost no metal shows above the diamonds, so that strand reads as a continuous line of light spiralling around the plain gold one.

The centre stone is claw set at its four corners and lifted just clear of the twist, so the long open table of the emerald cut stays completely uninterrupted above all that movement below.

Yellow gold, shown here, gives the strongest contrast between the plain strand and the diamond one. White gold and 925 sterling silver blur that contrast for a brighter overall effect, and rose gold makes the twist look softer.

You can request a different centre carat weight, a different colour or clarity grade, a coloured centre stone such as emerald or sapphire, diamonds on both strands, a plain twist with no stones, or an engraving inside the shank. Frequently asked questions

Is the centre stone a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Is a certificate included?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost and states carat weight, colour, clarity, measurements and laboratory grown origin.

How is this different from your other twisted band emerald cut rings?
Scale and setting. Our other twists use fine strands with micro pave or milgrain. This one uses two heavy strands and larger shared prong diamonds, so it is a much bolder ring with a clearly visible rope pattern.

Does a twisted band pair with a wedding band?
A straight band will touch the twist at its high points rather than sitting perfectly flat. Many people wear this ring alone for that reason, or choose a matching twisted or contoured band, which we can make.

Is a twisted band harder to keep clean?
Slightly, because dust can settle in the grooves between the strands. A soft brush along the twist takes care of it in a minute.

Which carat weight suits this ring?
All four are made for it. The band has real presence, so larger centre stones keep the balance, though a 2 carat looks striking sitting above the movement of the twist.

Is an emerald cut suitable for daily wear?
Yes. Its corners are cut at an angle rather than left as points, and the four claws sit directly over those corners.

Can the ring be resized?
It can, within a moderate range, but a twisted band with stones on one strand is more involved than a plain band. We recommend confirming your size carefully before ordering and we are happy to help.

How long does it take to make?
