An emerald cut lab grown diamond in four ball tipped claws on a band that splits at the shoulders, with a short row of round accent diamonds running at an angle along the outer strand on each side.

The split here is asymmetric rather than symmetrical. One strand carries the diamonds and travels up at an angle toward the center stone, while the other stays plain and passes beneath it, so the two halves of the shoulder read differently. It is a quieter version of a crossover design, and it gives the ring movement without any twisting.

The accents are set individually in shared prongs rather than as pave, and they graduate down in size as they travel away from the head. Five or six well set stones on each side do more for a slim band than a long line of tiny ones, because each stone is big enough to return light on its own.

The setting is plain and low, with the corners of the emerald cut covered and an open gallery beneath the stone so light passes through the pavilion.

Band details

The shank divides at each shoulder and rejoins into a single rounded band under the finger, leaving a small open space beside the setting. The underside is plain, so sizing is straightforward.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is finished with rhodium for a bright cool white, which is how this design is photographed. Yellow and rose gold make the plain strand read separately from the diamond strand.

Is the center stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. The only difference is where it was grown.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Why are the accents set at an angle
Because the outer strand of the split rises toward the head. Setting the stones along that line keeps them lying flat in their seats and draws the eye up to the center diamond.

Are shared prong accents secure
Yes. Each prong is a solid piece of metal holding two neighbouring stones, which is a stronger hold than a bead of the same size. An annual check is still sensible.

Can this ring be resized later
Yes. The band rejoins into plain metal underneath, which is where a jeweller works. Your first resizing with us is free.

How is this different from your other split shank rings
Our crossover split shank ring twists the two halves around each other. Our flared split shank ring is entirely plain polished metal. This design keeps the split simple and adds a short graduated accent row on the outer strand only.

Does a wedding band sit flush against it
Yes at the base, where the band is a single shank. The split sits slightly proud at the shoulders, which most people like with a plain band.

How do I clean it
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, working into the space between the two strands.

Which metal should I choose
White gold or sterling silver for one continuous bright line. Yellow or rose gold if you want the plain strand and the accent strand to read as two separate elements.
