From above this looks like a slim pave band holding an emerald cut lab grown diamond. Turn it to the side and a second design appears underneath, a row of scalloped arches outlined in milgrain, each one filled with its own pave diamonds.

That hidden gallery is the point of the ring. Because the arches run down both sides of the shank as well as under the setting, the ring is decorated exactly where the wearer sees it most, looking down at their own hand, and where other people notice it when the ring turns. It is a detail borrowed from antique jewellery, where the underside of a ring was often finished as carefully as the top.

The band itself stays deliberately narrow. A single row of micro pave runs along the top edge, each stone bead set with a milgrain border, so the ring keeps a fine line of light without becoming wide on the finger.

The centre stone is claw set at its four corners and lifted clear of the band so the whole staircase of step cut facets stays visible from the side as well as from above.

Yellow gold, shown here, makes the lace pattern easy to read against the diamonds. White gold and 925 sterling silver give a cooler, more platinum like antique look, and rose gold gives the warmest version of the same detailing.

Ring size

Ring size is fully customisable. Choose your size at checkout or write to us with the size you need, including quarter sizes, half sizes and sizes beyond the usual range. Please confirm your size carefully, since the decorated gallery extends down the sides of the shank. If you are unsure, we will help you measure at home first.

Frequently asked questions

Is the centre stone a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond is the same carbon crystal as a mined diamond, with the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same brilliance. Only the origin differs.

Is a certificate included?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost, stating carat weight, colour, clarity, measurements and laboratory grown origin.

How is this different from your other milgrain pave emerald cut rings?
Our triple row design puts three pave rows on a wide ridged shoulder. This ring does the opposite. The top of the band is kept very narrow with a single micro pave row, and all the decoration is moved underneath into scalloped lace arches that are only visible in profile.

Can you actually see the gallery when the ring is worn?
Yes, from the side and from above at an angle. It is one of those details other people notice when your hand moves, which is exactly how antique galleries were meant to work.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
The band is slim and the setting sits close to it, so a straight wedding band meets this ring well. A slim milgrain band is the most natural pairing and we can make one to match.

Is a slim band strong enough?
Yes for normal daily wear. We build the shank at a thickness that supports a large centre stone, and if you work with your hands we can make the band slightly heavier without changing the look.

Which carat weight suits this ring?
All four are made for it. Because the band is so narrow, larger centre stones look particularly dramatic here, and the fine detailing keeps the ring from looking plain at any size.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Pay attention to the underside, since a decorated gallery collects more dust than a plain one. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.

How long does it take to make?
