This is the boldest emerald cut ring we make. A broad flat band of solid gold carries the centre diamond low between four slim claws, with two baguette cut diamonds set flush into the metal on each side.

The width of the band is the whole idea. Most engagement rings taper away from the stone so the diamond looks larger. Here the band stays wide and square edged, so the ring reads as one solid block of gold with diamonds set into it. It is a modern take on the heavy deco rings of the nineteen thirties and it wears with real presence on the hand.

The baguettes are set flush, meaning each stone is dropped into a seat cut in the surface and the surrounding metal is burnished over its edge. Nothing rises above the band, so the ring stays completely smooth to the touch despite the diamonds in it.

Every stone in the ring is step cut, the centre and the baguettes alike, which is why the design looks so coherent. There is no fine sparkle competing with the long clean flashes of the emerald cut.

Yellow gold, shown here, gives the strongest and warmest statement. White gold and 925 sterling silver make the ring look more architectural, and rose gold gives it a softer, vintage tone.

Ring size

Ring size is fully customisable. Choose your size at checkout or write to us with the size you need, including quarter sizes, half sizes and sizes outside the standard range. Wide bands sit tighter than narrow ones, so if you are between sizes we usually recommend going up. Tell us and we will advise.

Custom orders

Every ring is made to order. You can request a different centre carat weight, a different colour or clarity grade, a coloured centre stone such as emerald or sapphire, a narrower band, more flush set baguettes along the band, or an engraving inside the shank. Frequently asked questions

Is the centre stone a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond is the same carbon crystal as a mined diamond, with the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same brilliance. Only the origin differs.

Is a certificate included?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost and lists carat weight, colour, clarity, measurements and laboratory grown origin.

How is this different from your other baguette emerald cut rings?
The band. Our other baguette designs use slim shanks with shared prong or channel set stones. This one is a deliberately wide, flat, heavy band with the baguettes set flush into its surface, so the gold itself is as much a part of the design as the diamonds.

Is a wide band comfortable to wear?
Yes, when it is finished properly. We round the inside edges so the band does not press against the finger, and because the stones are flush there is nothing to catch. A wide band does feel more snug, which is why sizing matters here.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes, but many people wear this ring on its own because of its width. If you do want a wedding band, a plain narrow one balances it well and we can make it in the same metal.

What does flush setting mean?
The diamond sits inside a seat cut into the metal and the surrounding surface is pressed over its edge. The stone finishes level with the band, which is the most protective setting there is.

Which carat weight suits this ring?
All four are made for it. Because the band is wide, larger centre stones keep the proportions balanced, and a 4 or 5 carat emerald cut looks particularly at home in this setting.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft cloth. With flush set stones and a plain surface, this is one of the easiest rings we make to keep looking new.

How long does it take to make?
Each ring is made to order, so please allow our standard making time from the day your metal and size are confirmed. We will confirm the schedule when you order.

What is shown in the worn photographs?
Those images show the ring on a hand so you can judge its width and scale. The clothing and manicure in them are styling only and are not part of the product.
