Five diamonds make up this ring. An emerald cut lab grown diamond in the centre, one marquise cut diamond standing upright against each side of it, and one round brilliant beyond each marquise, all on a plain polished band.

The arrangement is deliberately spare. The marquise sits with its long axis vertical, mirroring the height of the emerald cut and softening the hard rectangular edge of the centre stone. The round diamond beyond it is smaller and acts as a full stop, closing the group before the band begins. Nothing else is added, no pave, no halo, no milgrain, because the shapes themselves are doing the work.

Each accent is claw set with rounded ball tipped prongs rather than sharp claws, which keeps the profile smooth and gives the group a slightly antique softness. The centre stone is held at its four corners so the long table stays completely open.

The band is slim, round on the inside and polished all the way. It stays plain from the accents to the back, so it can be resized easily in future and sits comfortably against a flat wedding band.

Yellow gold, shown here, gives a warm frame around a colourless centre stone. White gold and 925 sterling silver make the five diamonds read as one continuous bright line. Rose gold gives the softest version.

Ring size is fully customisable. Choose your size at checkout or write to us with the size you need, including quarter sizes, half sizes and sizes beyond the standard range. Because the band is plain, this design is straightforward to resize later. If you are unsure of your size, we can help you measure at home.

You can request a different centre carat weight, a different colour or clarity grade, a coloured centre stone such as emerald or sapphire, larger side stones, an added hidden halo, or an engraving inside the band. Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. It is the same carbon crystal with the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale and the same optical behaviour as a mined diamond. Only the origin is different.

Is a certificate included?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost and states carat weight, colour, clarity, measurements and laboratory grown origin.

How is this different from your other marquise accent emerald cut rings?
This one is the simplest. It uses exactly two accent stones per side, a marquise and a round, set directly on a plain band with no vine, no leaf cluster and no pave anywhere. Our other marquise designs group several stones into petals or leaves with gold stems between them.

Why is the marquise set upright rather than sideways?
Set upright, the marquise follows the height of the emerald cut and makes the centre stone look taller and slimmer. Set sideways it would widen the ring across the finger instead. This design chooses height.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes. The accent stones sit low and close to the band, so a straight wedding band meets this ring cleanly on both sides.

Which carat weight suits this setting?
All four are made for it. The accents stay the same size as the centre grows, so a 4 or 5 carat emerald cut makes the side stones read as delicate punctuation rather than as equal partners.

Is an emerald cut durable for daily wear?
Yes. Its corners are cut at an angle instead of being left as points, and the ball tipped claws sit over exactly those corners.

How do I clean it?
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. With no pave and an open setting this is one of the easiest designs to keep clean. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.

How long does it take to make?
