Pear Cut Moissanite Twisting Vine Milgrain Leaf Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite in six claws on a shank that does not run straight. The band curves and twists as it approaches the stone, dips under it, and rises again on the other side, with a fine milgrain bead running along the inside edge of the curve. Small marquise and round moissanite are set along the twist as leaves and buds, placed where a growing stem would carry them rather than in a measured row.

Look at the two shoulders and they are not identical. One carries a marquise above a round, the other reverses it. That asymmetry is deliberate; a vine that matched perfectly on both sides would not look like a vine.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a claw that wraps around it rather than a plain prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other botanical pear rings

Every design is listed separately. Our sculpted vine and leaf ring keeps the band straight and builds the foliage up in relief on top of it. Our emerald leaf and vine ring opens the shank into separate branches and sets green emeralds as the leaves. This one is the subtlest of the three: the vine is the band itself, twisting rather than applied, and the accents are small enough that from arm's length the ring reads as a plain solitaire with a curve in it.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold is shown here and warms the design considerably; rose gold suits it just as well. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The twist is formed before any stone goes in, then each accent seat is cut individually into a surface that is curving in two directions at once. There is no jig for this; it is done by eye, and it is the reason no two of these rings are identical under magnification.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working along the milgrain and around the base of each accent where residue collects. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. The milgrain will soften very gradually over many years; we can rebead it if you ever want it sharpened.

Resizing

The back of the shank is plain, so this ring resizes by about two sizes without touching the twist or any setting.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Are the two sides meant to be different? Yes. The asymmetry is part of the design, not a fault. If you would prefer them mirrored, tell us in the order notes and we will make it that way.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band will not sit flush, because the shank dips and rises where it meets the stone. A gently contoured band follows the curve properly, and many people wear this design on its own.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
