Pear Cut Moissanite Emerald and Marquise Leaf Sprig Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite in six claws with a small sprig of leaves growing along each shoulder. The leaves alternate: marquise cut natural green emerald next to marquise cut colorless moissanite, with tiny round green emeralds tucked in as buds where the stems meet. Each stone is claw set individually and angled outward, so the group fans away from the centre like a real sprig rather than sitting in a row.

Behind the sprigs the band is plain and slim. The whole botanical arrangement is confined to the shoulders, which keeps a ring with two stone colours and three stone shapes from becoming busy.

What you are looking at

  • Centre stone: pear cut moissanite, colorless, VVS clarity, excellent cut and polish
  • Side stones: marquise cut natural emerald in green and marquise cut moissanite in colorless, alternating as leaves, with small round natural emeralds as buds
  • Setting: six claw centre setting with a claw over the point
  • Band: approximately 1.8 mm, slim and plain behind the leaf sprigs
  • Profile: low to medium

About the emeralds, honestly

The green stones are natural emerald. Emerald is 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, softer than the moissanite beside it at 9.25, and natural emerald is almost always internally included; those inclusions are normal and are part of what identifies the stone as genuine rather than a flaw we are hiding. Most emeralds on the market, ours included, have their surface reaching fissures filled with oil or resin, which is standard and accepted practice for the gem.

In practical terms this ring needs slightly more care than an all moissanite one. Never clean it in an ultrasonic or steam cleaner and never use solvents, both of which can damage emerald or strip the filler. Take it off before anything that risks a hard knock. Cared for sensibly it will last a lifetime; treated like an indestructible ring it will not.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a claw that wraps around it rather than a plain prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other emerald leaf pear ring

Every design is listed separately, and we make a second pear ring with green emerald leaves. On that one the shank splits open into curling vine branches with micropave running along them, and the emeralds sit among a lot of small colorless sparkle; it is the more elaborate and more romantic of the two. This one keeps the band solid and slim, uses larger marquise stones in a simple alternating green and colorless rhythm, and has no pave at all. It reads cleaner and more graphic, and it costs less because there is far less setting work in it.

Our sculpted vine and leaf ring is the same botanical idea with no coloured stones whatsoever, if you like the shape but not the green.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, shown here, is the strongest setting for green against colorless; in white gold and silver the emeralds read cooler and sharper. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The emeralds are set last and with less pressure than the moissanite beside them, because a softer stone will chip under a claw closed too hard. Emeralds also vary naturally in tone from stone to stone, so the exact green in your ring will not be pixel identical to the photograph.

Care

Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a very soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner, a steam cleaner, or any solvent. Avoid household bleach and chlorinated pool water. Have the claws over both the centre stone and the emeralds checked once a year.

Resizing

The back of the shank is plain and solid, so this ring resizes comfortably by two sizes or more without disturbing the leaf sprigs.

Shipping and returns

Made to order, typically ready to dispatch in 16 to 20 working days, with worldwide insured shipping and tracking. Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery on unworn items in original condition.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. The centre and the colorless leaves are moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond. The green stones are natural emerald.

Can I have all colorless leaves instead? Not on this listing, but our sculpted vine and leaf ring is close to that idea and is listed separately.

Will the emeralds look as green as the photograph? Close, but not identical. Natural emerald varies, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a particular depth of green matters to you, tell us before ordering and we will select from what we have.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? The leaf sprigs sit low and finish early, so a straight band meets plain metal at the back. There will be a small gap under the point of the pear.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
