A pear cut moissanite in six claws with accent stones running down each shoulder in an alternating rhythm: marquise, round, marquise, round. Each stone is set on its own, held by two small beads, with a clear length of polished metal showing between them. Nothing is packed together and nothing shares a claw.

The gaps are the design. Because every stone sits in isolation with bright metal on either side, each one reads separately rather than merging into a continuous line, and the row has a deliberate, almost measured beat to it. The basket beneath the centre stone is left completely plain, with open polished arms and no stones underneath.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. Ours sits under a claw that wraps around it rather than a plain prong resting on top. It is the difference between a point that survives a decade of daily wear and one that chips on a door frame in the first year, and it is not something we treat as optional.

How it compares to our other alternating accent pear rings

Every design is listed separately, and we make a second ring with a very similar alternating marquise and round row. The difference is under the centre stone: that one carries a hidden halo, a ring of small round moissanite set around the base of the pear and visible from the side. This one does not. Its basket is bare polished metal, which keeps the design cleaner from every angle and costs less. Look at the side view photographs of both and you will see it immediately.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished and is shown here, which makes the metal gaps between the stones almost disappear so the row reads as pure light. In yellow or rose gold those same gaps become a visible warm rhythm, which is a genuinely different effect. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. Spaced setting is less forgiving than pave: with nothing to hide behind, every stone has to sit at the same height, at the same angle, and with exactly the same gap either side. Our setter marks the spacing before cutting any seat.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working along the gaps between the stones where residue shows most on a polished surface. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Have the beads checked once a year, particularly at the points of the marquise accents.

Resizing

The accents finish well before the back of the shank, so this ring resizes comfortably by two sizes or more without disturbing any setting.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Why choose spaced setting over pave? Pave gives you a solid line of glitter. Spaced setting gives you individual flashes with metal between them, which suits a slim band and shows the colour of the gold. It is a quieter, more deliberate look.

Which way does the pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. The accents stop early and the back of the shank is plain, so a straight band meets bare metal cleanly.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
