Pear Cut Moissanite Three Stone Pear Side Stone Engagement Ring

A pear cut moissanite in six claws with a second pear cut moissanite on each side, laid on its side so that its point runs outward along the finger. All three stones are claw set and sit at the same height on a plain slim band, so the ring reads as one long horizontal sweep of stone rather than a centre with decoration attached.

The side stones are substantial, not accents. They are large enough that the ring covers a good deal of the finger and reads as a three stone piece from across a room. Turning them sideways is what makes it work; three pears all pointing the same way would look like a mistake.

Why the point is protected

The tip of a pear is the most vulnerable part of the shape. The centre stone sits under a claw that wraps around its point rather than a plain prong resting on top. The side stones have their outer points protected the same way, and because they lie flat against the finger their tips are less exposed than a claw set marquise would be.

How it compares to our other pear rings with side stones

Every design is listed separately. Our bezel and baguette three stone ring uses two step cut side stones enclosed in metal, which is architectural and low. Our mirrored marquise and round design uses six small accents per pair rather than two large stones. This is the only ring in our pear range where all three stones are the same shape and the sides are genuinely large. It is also the most stone for the money of the three.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. With this much stone on show the metal is mostly a frame; yellow gold, shown here, outlines the group most clearly. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat, and the side stones scale with the centre so the proportions stay right at every size.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The three stones have to sit at exactly the same height and on exactly the same line, because any step between them is obvious from the side. Our setter fits all three before tightening any of them.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working underneath all three stones where residue collects. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Have the claws checked once a year, particularly the ones over the three points.

Resizing

The back of the shank is plain, so this ring resizes comfortably by two sizes or more in either direction without disturbing any setting.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. All three stones are moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe any of them as diamonds.

How big are the side stones? They are proportioned to the centre rather than fixed, so a 2 carat centre gets smaller sides than a 5 carat centre does. Ask us before ordering if you want exact millimetre sizes for a particular combination.

Which way does the centre pear point? Toward the fingertip as standard, which is what lengthens the finger. Tell us in the order notes if you want it the other way.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? The three stones span a wide area and sit low, so a straight band meets the shank but leaves gaps beneath the side stones. A contoured band, or wearing this one alone, works better.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
