Design & Selection

Save 20%A pear cut moissanite in six ball tipped claws on a very slim band carrying four round accents per side, each set on its own in a tiny claw setting with a clear gap of polished metal between it and the next. The accents alternate in size, larger and smaller, so the line along the shoulder rises and falls rather than running flat.
We make it to order in our workshop in Surat, India. Family run, every ring finished and checked by hand.
In pave the small stones sit shoulder to shoulder and read as one continuous strip of light. Here they are deliberately separated. Each accent has its own four claws and its own patch of bare metal around it, so you see individual points of light with metal between them rather than a solid glittering line.
The practical differences are worth knowing. Individually claw set stones sit higher than pave stones, so they catch light from lower angles and flash more when your hand moves. There is less metal removed from the shank, so the band stays stronger despite being thin. And because there are eight accents rather than thirty, each one can be a larger stone for the same total weight, which is why the sparkle here reads as sharper and more separate.
The trade off is honest too. A spaced ring is quieter than a pave one from a distance. If you want a band that looks like a solid line of light in photographs, choose one of our pave designs instead.
Our Bezel Set Marquise and Round ring also spaces its accents, but each sits in a smooth closed bezel and the shapes alternate between marquise and round.
Our Scattered Cluster ring groups small stones into loose clusters at the shoulders rather than spacing them evenly.
This ring is the most regular of the three. Even spacing, round stones only, alternating two sizes, on the thinnest band. It is the closest thing we make to a row of stars.
The centre is a pear cut moissanite, sometimes called a teardrop. It is a brilliant cut, so it returns light as sharp flashes of white and coloured fire, and its point elongates the finger.
The accents are round moissanite in two sizes. Every stone in the ring is Colorless in body colour and VVS in clarity, matched before setting.
Moissanite has a higher refractive index than diamond, which is why it fires so hard, and at 9.25 on the Mohs scale it holds up to daily wear.
Choose the centre from 2 carat up to 5 carat, with the accent spacing adjusted so the rhythm along the shoulder stays even at every size.
Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Shown in yellow gold, which is the right choice for this design because the whole effect depends on seeing metal between the stones, and warm metal makes those gaps read clearly. In white metal the gaps close visually and the ring looks closer to a pave band. Rose gold sits between. Silver gives the white effect affordably. 10K is the hardest and holds the small individual settings best, 14K is the everyday balance, 18K is the richest but softest. White gold is rhodium plated and needs replating every one to two years.
Nothing is taken off a shelf. We cast, set each accent individually, file and polish each ring for your chosen metal, centre size and finger size after your order arrives, which is how we can offer twenty one ring sizes and forty combinations.
Warm water, a drop of mild washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush. This is an easy ring to clean because the stones are separated, so the brush reaches all round each one instead of only across the top. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Take it off for the gym, gardening and swimming pools, and keep it away from bleach.
Will a wedding band sit flush? Not perfectly. The individual settings sit a little proud of the shank, so a straight band touches them rather than the metal. It is not harmful, but over years it will polish the claws. The lower half of the shank is bare, so wearing the band below rather than above works well.
Can it be resized? Yes. The bottom of the shank has no stones.
Do individually set stones come loose more easily than pave? They are each held by four claws rather than shared beads, which is a strong setting, but the claws are exposed. Have them checked every couple of years like any claw set ring.
Is the point of the pear protected? Yes, it has its own claw.
