Emerald Cut Moissanite Milgrain Bezel Split Shank Engagement Ring

The stone sits inside a low bezel wall with a line of fine milgrain beading raised along its top edge, and four claws fold over the corners on top of that. The bezel does the holding and the claws add the corners back, so the outline stays square without the rim swallowing the stone.

Behind it the band divides. Each shoulder opens into a long teardrop shaped loop before the two halves rejoin into a single rounded band at the back of the finger.

How it compares

Our full bezel wide band emerald ring encloses the stone in an unbroken rim on a solid 4 mm band, which is the plainest thing we make. This one is the opposite kind of bezel. It is lighter, edged in beading, opened at the corners by claws and carried on a shank with two holes cut through it. There is far more metal drawing in this ring and far less of it by weight.

Why an emerald cut

The straight edges of an emerald cut give the milgrain a clean line to follow. Beading around a curve has to be stretched or crowded to fit, and it is never as even as beading along a straight run.

Wearing and stacking

The shank narrows to a single band at the back, so it feels like a normal ring on the finger despite the open shoulders. A straight wedding band meets the split at its widest point, which leaves a small triangle of daylight between the two rings. A curved band closes that gap.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The milgrain is raised bead by bead along the finished bezel with a knurling wheel, and the two teardrop openings are sawn and filed by hand so they match. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush along the milgrain rather than across it. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, which wear fine beading down over time.

Why both a bezel and claws
The bezel protects the girdle all the way round, and the claws keep the corners visible so the stone still reads as an emerald cut rather than as a rectangle of metal.

Is a split shank weaker than a solid one
No. The two halves are each thicker in section than a single band would be at this width, and they carry the load together.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes, at the back where the shank is solid.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
