Emerald Cut Moissanite Split Shank Hidden Halo Micropave Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four slim claws with a plain hidden halo beneath it and a line of very fine micropave running down each shoulder. Look at the ring from the side and you will see the band divide just below the head into two thin arms that cross underneath the setting before rejoining. It is a small piece of structure that lifts the stone, opens the underside to light and gives the profile a curve rather than a straight post.

The pave here is deliberately fine, a single row of tiny stones set into the crown of a tapering band, so it reads as a continuous line of light rather than as individual accents. It stops about two thirds of the way round and the rest of the shank is left plain.

How it compares to our other hidden halo emerald cut rings

Every design is listed separately. Our plain band hidden halo has nothing on the shank at all. Our double claw ring uses paired claws and beads the halo with milgrain. Our micropave ring on a straight 1.5 mm band keeps the shank narrow and unsplit the whole way round. This one is the only hidden halo in our emerald cut range with a split crossover under the head, and it sits a little higher than the others because of it. Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished and shown here, which lets the hidden halo disappear into the setting until the light catches it. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The crossover arms are formed and soldered before any stone goes near the ring, because the joint has to be clean where it will be visible from below. If you would prefer a solid shank without the split, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. The open crossover makes the underside of this ring easier to rinse than a solid cathedral setting. Dry with a soft cloth and have the micropave beads checked once a year, since very small stones rely on very small beads.

Resizing

The back of the band is plain, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without disturbing the pave or the crossover. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

What is the point of the split shank here? It raises the stone slightly, opens the underside so light reaches the pavilion, and gives the ring a softer line from the side than a straight post would.

Is micropave harder to look after? A little. The stones and the beads holding them are small, so an annual check is worth doing. In exchange you get an unbroken line of light rather than a row of visible stones.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. The back of the shank is plain and slim, so a straight band sits flush behind the head.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
