Emerald Cut Moissanite Rope Twist Pave Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four claws on a band made of two thick strands wound around each other like rope. One strand is left plain and rounded, polished to a mirror. The other carries a row of claw set round moissanite, noticeably larger than the micropave most twist rings use, so you read them as individual stones rather than as a line of glitter. The two strands cross and recross the whole way round the finger.

Because the stones follow the spiral, they are never all facing you at once. Some catch light while others are turned away, and the pattern shifts as the hand moves. It is a livelier ring than a straight pave band and a good deal more substantial, at about 3.5 mm across the pair of strands.

Pricing note

Our prices are based on a band up to 2 mm wide. The twisted pair measures about 3.5 mm, so it carries a width supplement of 50 US dollars in sterling silver and 200 US dollars in gold. That supplement is already included in the prices shown and is not added at checkout.

How it compares to our other twisted emerald cut rings

Every design is listed separately. Our single spiral pave twist wraps one line of fine pave around a solid shank and adds a hidden halo. Our woven braid ring uses three thin strands with open loops between them. This is the only design built from two thick strands of equal weight, and the only one where the accents are large enough to count individually.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold is shown here and gives the strongest contrast between the plain strand and the set one. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The two strands are formed and wound before any stone is set, then the accents go in along the outer face of one strand only, following the spiral. Setting on a curve that is also twisting is slow work and it is why this design takes longer than a flat pave band.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working into the groove where the two strands cross, because that is where residue collects. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Have the claws on the accents checked once a year.

Resizing

The twist runs the entire circumference, so there is no plain section to work with. This ring can be adjusted by roughly one size at most, and beyond that it would need remaking. Please be as accurate as you can with your finger size, and contact us before ordering if you are unsure and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Why are the accents bigger than usual? Because a spiral hides half of them at any moment. Larger stones keep the ring reading as set with stones from every angle; micropave on a twist tends to disappear.

Does a twisted band catch on things? The groove between the strands can hold a fine thread occasionally. The claws are filed low, so it is not a snagging design, but it is not as smooth as a plain band.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band will not sit flush against a twist; there will be small gaps where the strands rise and fall. A contoured band, or wearing this one alone, works better.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
