Emerald Cut Moissanite Open Scroll Vine Marquise Pave Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite above shoulders built from scrolling vines that curl away from the setting and back on themselves, leaving open windows in the metal. Pave moissanite runs along the vine strands, and marquise cut accents sit within the scrolls where leaves would grow. Under the head the vines separate into an open lattice rather than a solid gallery, so light reaches the stone from below as well as above.

Why this ring works

Openwork and pave are usually treated as alternatives. Putting them together means the shoulders can carry a lot of stone without becoming heavy, because the voids between the scrolls keep the metal visually light. The marquise accents do the same job they do in nature: they mark where the scroll turns, so the eye follows the curve instead of reading a straight paved line. The result has the density of a fully set shoulder and the airiness of a filigree one, which is unusual to get in the same ring.

Setting and band

Four claw prongs hold the corners of the emerald cut above an open lattice gallery formed by the vines themselves. Each shoulder is built from scrolling strands that curl outward and back, leaving pierced openings between them. Round brilliant moissanite is bead set along the strands, with marquise cut accents claw set within the scrolls. The shank tapers to plain polished metal at the back. Band width is approximately two millimetres at the scrolls. Metal is solid throughout with a polished interior.

Metal options

Choose from recycled 925 sterling silver, or solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. Yellow gold, as photographed, is what makes the openwork read, because the shadows inside the scroll windows need warm metal around them to register as voids. Rose gold does the same softer. White gold and sterling silver merge stone and metal and flatten the scrollwork. White gold is rhodium finished.

Ring sizing

Every ring is made to order in your size. Sizes run from 3 to 13, including half sizes. The plain back of the shank allows minor adjustment later, but ordering the correct size protects the scroll geometry and the pave. Contact us if you are unsure and we will help before production starts.

Care

Open scrollwork combines the two worst offenders for trapped dirt: pierced voids and dozens of pave settings. Clean every two to three weeks with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, pushing the bristles through each scroll opening from both sides and up through the lattice gallery. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Questions people ask

Are the scroll openings pierced right through? Yes. They go all the way through the metal, which is what keeps a heavily set shoulder from looking solid.

What do the marquise accents do? They sit at the turns of each scroll, marking the curve so the eye follows the vine rather than reading a straight row of pave.

Is this design fragile? No. The scrolls are structural, not decorative overlay, and the strands connect at multiple points. It is no more delicate than a standard split shank.

Which metal should I choose? Yellow or rose gold, so the openings read as openings. White gold or sterling silver for a brighter but flatter effect. For daily wear over decades, 14K balances colour and durability best.
