Emerald Cut Moissanite Milgrain Bezel Solitaire Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite held in a full bezel, with a fine row of beaded milgrain worked along the outer edge of the metal. The bezel follows the outline of the stone exactly, corners included, and the beading gives that edge a soft antique sparkle instead of a hard polished line. There are no accent stones anywhere on this ring.

Underneath, the bezel is lifted clear of the finger on a slim rounded band that opens into a small loop where it meets the head, so light passes right through beneath the stone. From the side the ring reads as an oval of metal with a bezel floating at the top, which is why a bezel setting this simple still has presence on the hand.

How it compares to our other emerald cut bezel rings

We list each design separately. One of our other bezel rings has a high set plain bezel on a 1.6 mm wire with an open loop gallery, and another sets the bezel low and flush against a slim band. This one has the same full bezel idea but adds beaded milgrain along the whole outer edge, which is the only decoration on the ring and completely changes its character: the other two read modern and clean, this one reads antique. If you want a bezel that looks like it came from the 1920s rather than from a contemporary studio, this is the one.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Milgrain reads most clearly in yellow and rose gold, where each tiny bead picks up a warm highlight against the stone. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat, with the bezel made to fit each stone exactly.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team once you order. The bezel is formed around the actual stone and the milgrain is applied by hand with a milgrain wheel, bead by bead along the edge. If you would prefer a plain bezel without milgrain, a lower profile, or a heavier band, tell us in the order notes before we start.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and suits daily wear. A bezel is the most protective setting there is, which makes this a practical choice for people who work with their hands. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, brushing along the milgrain rather than across it and reaching through the open gallery underneath. Dry with a soft cloth. Milgrain softens over many years of heavy wear; we can re-cut it if you ever want it sharpened.

Resizing

The band is plain at the back, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without touching the bezel or the milgrain. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. It is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right. We do not describe it as a diamond.

Does a bezel make the stone look smaller? The metal rim covers the very edge of the stone, so the face up area is marginally smaller than in a claw setting. In exchange the stone is far better protected and the rim itself adds visual width, so most people find it looks about the same size on the hand.

What is milgrain? A row of tiny metal beads worked along an edge with a small wheel. It is a signature of antique and art deco jewellery and softens the line between metal and stone.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. A bezel has no claws to catch, so a straight band sits neatly alongside. The raised profile leaves a small gap under the head, which a slightly contoured band closes if you prefer.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
