Emerald Cut Moissanite Bezel Hidden Halo Milgrain Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in a full bezel with milgrain beading around its upper edge, raised on a slim split shank. Under the bezel, invisible from directly above, a row of pave moissanite is set into the outer wall of the setting on all four sides, with a further row beneath the head. From the front the ring is a clean rectangle of gold. From any other angle a band of light runs around the base of the stone.

Why this ring works

A hidden halo under a prong setting is common. Under a bezel it is unusual and considerably harder to execute, because the pave has to be cut into the outer face of a solid rim without weakening it. The payoff is worth it: a bezel is the most enclosing setting there is, so surrounding its base with light stops it reading as heavy. Add milgrain along the top edge and the whole head has three separate textures within a few millimetres, which is why it holds attention far longer than a plain bezel does.

Setting and band

A full bezel of solid metal wraps the complete perimeter of the emerald cut, following all eight edges including the clipped corners, with milgrain beading along its upper rim. Round brilliant moissanite accents are bead set into the outer wall of the bezel on all four sides as a hidden halo, with an additional row beneath the head. The shank divides into two fine strands at the shoulders before rejoining. Band width is approximately one point eight millimetres. Metal is solid throughout with a polished interior.

Metal options

Choose from recycled 925 sterling silver, or solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. Yellow gold, as photographed, is the strongest version: the warm rim frames the colorless stone and the hidden pave reads as a bright line against gold rather than disappearing into it. Rose gold does the same softer. White gold and sterling silver merge rim and pave into one bright mass. White gold is rhodium finished.

Ring sizing

Care

A hidden halo is the single dirtiest place on any ring, because it sits directly under the stone where soap and hand cream collect and where nobody thinks to brush. Clean every two to three weeks with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, working the brush upward from underneath along all four sides of the bezel. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Questions people ask

What is a hidden halo? A row of small accent stones set below the centre stone, on the sides of the setting rather than around the top. It is invisible from directly above and adds light at every other angle.

Does the hidden halo make the stone look bigger? Not from directly above, which is where the plain bezel outline is doing the work. It adds brightness in profile and when the hand moves.

Is a bezel more secure than prongs? Yes. There are no claws to bend or snag, and the entire girdle of the stone is enclosed in metal.

Which metal should I choose? Yellow or rose gold to keep the bezel rim, the milgrain and the hidden pave reading as three distinct textures. White gold or sterling silver for a single bright head. For daily wear over decades, 14K balances colour and durability best.
