Emerald Cut Moissanite Art Deco Baguette Fan Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four claws, with a fan of tapered baguettes opening out from each side. The baguettes are bar set between two vertical rails so they sit flush and square, and around each fan are small round moissanite set above, below and just beyond the rail. Every stone in the fan points away from the centre, which is what gives the design its unmistakable art deco geometry.

This is the busiest arrangement in our emerald cut range in terms of stone shapes, and it is deliberate. Step cut baguettes reflect in long flat planes; round brilliants scatter. Putting them next to each other in a strict symmetrical pattern is exactly what jewellers were doing in the 1920s and 1930s, and it is the reason the design still looks like a period piece rather than a modern one.

How it compares to our other emerald cut baguette rings

We list every design separately. Our two tapered baguette three stone rings each use one single baguette per side, set tight against the centre stone, and nothing else. This ring uses several baguettes per side arranged as a fan, adds round accents around them, and frames each fan with metal rails. It is a cluster design rather than a three stone, it is far more decorated, and it reads as art deco where the three stone versions read as classic.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, as photographed, emphasises the rails and the geometry; white gold makes the fan read as one continuous sheet of light. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat with the fans scaled in proportion.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team once you order. Bar setting baguettes so their long edges line up exactly is precise work, and a fan of them has to be graded in size before anything is set. If you would like larger baguettes, fewer rounds, or the fans made symmetrical to a different angle, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and copes with daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working carefully between the baguettes where the gaps are narrow. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Baguettes are held along their long edges by the rails, which is secure, but have the round accents and their claws checked once a year.

Resizing

The band is plain at the back, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without touching the fans. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right. We do not describe it as a diamond.

What is bar setting? The stone is held between two upright bars of metal along its long edges, with no claws over the corners. It is the traditional way to set baguettes and it keeps the row looking clean.

Is this ring very wide on the finger? The fans add noticeable width beside the centre stone, so it covers more of the finger than a plain solitaire of the same carat weight. That is part of the look.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band sits flush against the plain shank but will not follow the outline of the fans. Many people wear this design on its own, or with a very slim band.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
