Each of the four claws splits into two tines just below the girdle. The tines curl outward and then drop, meeting in a small collar where the head joins the band, so the whole setting reads as a tulip seen from the side.

The band itself is deliberately thin. Nothing is set into it and it does not widen at the shoulders, which leaves the stone and the curled gallery as the only things to look at.

Our classic four claw emerald solitaire uses plain straight claws and an open trellis underneath, so from the side you see mostly daylight. This one puts real metalwork under the stone. Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The split claws are sawn and curled by hand after the head is cast, which is the only way to get the two tines to match each other on all four corners. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 10 to 14 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Work the brush up into the tulip collar from underneath, where dust settles. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Yes, at this scale. Each tine is short and sits against the crown facet, and the pair holds the corner from two directions instead of one.

Will a thin band bend
Not in normal wear. We keep the back of the band slightly thicker in section than it looks from the front for exactly this reason.

Yes, by one to two sizes. The band carries no stones.
