Instead of a continuous halo, each accent stone here sits inside its own pointed petal, a small bezel with a milgrain bead outline that comes to a tip pointing away from the centre. Fourteen of them ring the stone, and because the petals stand apart from one another the outline reads as a flower or a sunburst rather than a frame.

The band behind is plain and slightly split where it meets the head, which keeps the flower shape clear against the finger.

How it compares

Our octagonal halo ring encloses the stone in one tight ring of pave. This one breaks the halo into separate petals with metal showing between them, which makes the ring wider overall and far more decorative. It is the boldest halo in the emerald range and the one that reads most clearly as a vintage or art nouveau piece rather than a modern one.

Why an emerald cut

A petal halo is busy by design. The long flat table of a step cut keeps the middle of the ring calm, and the straight edges of the stone give the radiating petals something to point away from.

Wearing and stacking

The head is wide, so a straight wedding band will meet the ring only at the back of the shank and leave a visible gap under the petals. Most people wear this one on its own, or with a curved band shaped to sit around the flower.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Every petal is formed and beaded individually, then aligned so all fourteen tips sit on the same circle. Milgrain this fine is cut with a hand wheel, not cast. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 18 to 22 working days for this design.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Work the brush between the petals where dust settles. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth, patting rather than rubbing so the cloth does not catch the milgrain.

Fourteen, one in each petal.

Will the petal tips catch
The tips are rounded and lie flat against the halo line rather than standing up, but this is a wide head. If you want the flattest possible ring, our bezel set octagonal halo is the better choice.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction. The band is plain at the back.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
