Two strands cross once on each shoulder. One is plain polished metal, the other carries a single row of pave with a fine milgrain bead running along both of its edges, so the stones sit in a beaded channel rather than sitting proud of the metal.

After the crossover the pave strand narrows and fades away toward the back of the ring, leaving a plain band behind the finger. That is deliberate. It keeps the stones where they are seen and keeps the underside comfortable.

How it compares

Our infinity twist pave emerald ring wraps the two strands around each other more than once, and its pave row is bead set with no milgrain, so it reads as modern and fluid. This one crosses only once, frames the pave in beading and lets the stones stop before the back of the band. It is the quieter and more antique looking of the two.

Why an emerald cut

Step cut facets give broad, slow flashes. Setting them above a row of small brilliants is a deliberate contrast: the centre stone stays calm while the shoulders do the sparkling.

Wearing and stacking

The crossover sits just below the widest point of the head, so a straight wedding band meets the ring cleanly. A milgrain edged band echoes the beading better than a plain one.

Made to order in Surat, India

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. The milgrain is raised bead by bead along the finished pave row, after the stones are set, which is the only order in which the beading comes out even. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 12 to 16 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Brush along the pave row rather than across it so the bristles do not catch the milgrain. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

How many accent stones are there
Twenty two in total, eleven along each side.

Does the milgrain wear smooth over time
Very slowly, and only on the outermost edge. In gold it is more durable than in silver. We can re raise it during a service if you ever want it sharp again.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes. The pave stops well before the back of the band, so there is plain metal to work with.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
