Emerald Cut Moissanite Large French Pave Hidden Halo Engagement Ring

The accents on this band are large for pave, and they are French set, which means a small V shaped cutout is cut into the metal beneath each stone. Those cutouts let light in from the side and underneath as well as from above, so the row stays bright even indoors.

Beneath the centre stone a squared hidden halo runs right around the basket, following the rectangular outline of the emerald cut rather than the usual circle.

How it compares

Our scalloped pave emerald uses smaller stones and shapes the metal into curves between them. This one uses larger stones and cuts a V beneath each. Side by side, the scalloped version is finer and more traditional, this one is bolder and throws more light. The hidden halo is also different: round and delicate there, squared and substantial here.

Wearing and stacking

The pave stops short of the back of the band, leaving plain metal where a wedding band sits. The French cutouts do mean slightly more of each stone is exposed at the edge, so this design suits careful daily wear better than heavy manual work.

Made to order in Surat, India

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. Cutting the V beneath a stone removes metal from the seat, so each cutout is made only after the stone is fitted and the claws are raised, never before. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 14 to 18 working days.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. The V cutouts collect less than solid pave does, but they need the brush worked from underneath as well as above. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.
