This is the most heavily worked ring in our emerald cut range. Several strands of metal braid around each other from one side of the centre stone right round to the other, and roughly half of those strands are covered in pave set round accents while the rest stay plain and polished. The pattern does not stop at the shoulders. It carries all the way to the bottom of the shank.

Leaf shapes are worked into the braid where the strands cross, each one pave set and outlined with a fine bead edge, so the ring reads as a climbing vine rather than a simple twist.

How it compares

Our other twisted vine emerald rings use one or two strands crossing once or twice, with the pave stopping partway along the shoulder. This one is a full wrap: more strands, more stones, and no plain section anywhere on the band. If you looked at the petite twisted vine and wished it were bolder, this is that ring.

Why an emerald cut

With this much movement in the band you need a centre stone that holds still. The broad flat table of a step cut does exactly that, and its straight edges cut cleanly through the curl of the vine instead of blending into it.

Wearing and stacking

Because the braid runs the full way round, a flat wedding band will not sit tight against it at any point. Most people wear this ring on its own. If you want a second ring, choose a thin plain band and expect a small gap.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. A braid like this is built up strand by strand before any stone goes in, then the pave is set from several angles because no two strands sit on the same plane. It is slow work and we do not rush it. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 18 to 22 working days for this design.

Care

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Work the brush between the strands from both sides, since dust collects in the gaps of the braid faster than on a plain band. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

How many accent stones are there
Around one hundred and sixty, depending on finger size.

Is the whole band covered in stones
The braid runs all the way round. Within it, some strands are pave set and some are left polished, so there is bare metal in the pattern but no plain stretch of band.

Can this ring be resized
Only by half a size in either direction. The braid continues to the bottom of the shank, so there is no clean section to cut. We recommend ordering the correct size, and we will send a free plastic ring sizer if you ask.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.

Which finger sizes are available
Sizes 3 to 13 including half sizes. Message us before ordering if you need something outside that range.
