Our other emerald halo ring runs pave three quarters of the way round the band and holds the centre stone in claws. This one puts all the work at the top: a solid bezel, an octagonal halo, nothing on the shank. The bezel also makes the ring the flattest and most snag free design in the range, which matters if you work with your hands.

Why the octagonal halo

A round halo around a rectangular stone leaves awkward gaps at the corners. Cutting the halo at eight sides keeps the outline parallel to the stone all the way round, so the ring reads as one clean shape rather than a rectangle floating inside an oval.

Wearing and stacking

Nothing on this ring stands proud. The bezel rim sits flush with the halo, and the plain band means a straight wedding band lies tight against it with no gap anywhere.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat. A bezel on a step cut is the hardest kind to make well, because the metal has to meet eight straight edges without a single visible gap or wave. We cut the seat from solid rather than using a pre made rim. Every ring is made after you order, usually within 16 to 20 working days.

Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. The bezel keeps dust out from underneath, so this is one of the easiest designs to keep bright. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth.

Does a bezel make the stone look smaller
The rim covers the very edge of the girdle, so the stone shows slightly less than in claws. The halo more than makes up for it: the ring reads a full size larger than the centre stone alone.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, by one to two sizes in either direction. The band is plain, so there is nothing to disturb.

Is moissanite hard enough for daily wear
Yes. Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond among stones used in jewellery.
