Emerald Cut Moissanite Woven Braid Pave Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four claws above a shank that is woven rather than simply twisted. Two strands cross over and under each other several times down each shoulder, leaving small open loops between them, and one strand carries a line of pave while the other stays plain and polished. Where the weave reaches the head, a small trefoil cluster of metal petals sits on each side with a round moissanite at its centre.

The open loops are what make this design work. Light passes right through the shoulders, so a shank that is actually quite decorated still looks airy from the side. The two little petal clusters at the top do the job that a halo would do on a different ring: they fill the space between the shoulders and the stone without adding a frame around it.

How it compares to our other emerald cut twist and braid rings

We list every design separately. Our hidden halo pave twist crosses the two strands once in a simple spiral and adds stones under the centre. Our double row pave split shank runs two straight pave rows side by side with no crossing at all. This ring weaves the strands in and out repeatedly, which creates the open loops you can see through, and it is the only one of the three with petal clusters at the shoulders. It is the most decorative of the group and the one that reads most as jewellery rather than as a setting.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished and is the metal shown here, where the pave strand and the plain strand read almost as one. In yellow or rose gold the two strands separate visually and the weave becomes much easier to follow. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team once you order. The weave is formed before any stone is set, and the pave goes in afterwards along the finished strand. If you would like the weave made tighter, the pave left off, or the petal clusters omitted, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and copes well with daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working the brush through the open loops of the weave and around the petal clusters, since both hold soap and lotion. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Take the ring off before gardening or gym work, as an open weave can catch on gloves and fabric.

Resizing

The strands rejoin into a plain band at the back, so this ring can usually be resized by one size in either direction. Beyond that the weave starts to distort. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right. We do not describe it as a diamond.

Is the weave uncomfortable to wear? No. The inside of the shank is smooth and rounded; the weave is on the outside only.

Are the petal clusters set with stones? The petals are metal. Each cluster holds one small round moissanite at its centre.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band sits close at the back but will not follow the weave at the front. A contoured band, or wearing the ring on its own, suits this design better.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
