An emerald cut moissanite set low in four flat claws on a wide flat band. The shank is a broad square edged ribbon of solid metal, roughly three millimetres across, with no taper, no pave and no ornament. The stone sits close to the finger rather than raised on a tall head, so the whole ring reads as one solid object rather than a stone perched on a wire.

Why this ring works

Almost every solitaire on the market goes the other way, using the thinnest possible band to make the stone look bigger. This design does the opposite on purpose. A wide flat shank in yellow gold reads as substantial and modern, and it gives the emerald cut a frame with real weight behind it. The low setting is the practical half of that decision. A low stone does not catch on jumpers, does not swing sideways on the finger, and is far less likely to knock against a doorframe.

Setting and band

Four flat claw prongs grip the corners of the emerald cut and sit almost flush with the table, so nothing protrudes above the stone. The head is low and open underneath. The shank is a wide flat band with crisp square edges, approximately three millimetres across, the same width all the way around. Metal is solid throughout with a polished interior and a polished outer face.

Metal options

Choose from recycled 925 sterling silver, or solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. Yellow gold, as photographed, is what this design is built for, because the broad polished face gives the metal enough surface area to actually show its colour. Rose gold does the same in a warmer tone. White gold and sterling silver make the band read cooler and more architectural. White gold is rhodium finished.

Ring sizing

Every ring is made to order in your size. Sizes run from 3 to 13, including half sizes. A wide band sits tighter than a thin one at the same nominal size, so many people prefer to go up a quarter to a half size. Contact us before ordering and we will talk it through.

Care

This is one of the easiest rings to keep clean, because there is no pave and no gallery to trap anything. Wash with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft cloth. A wide polished face will pick up fine surface scratches over years of wear, which most people come to like. A jeweller can repolish it in minutes if you prefer it sharp.

Why is this priced above the slim band versions? A three millimetre shank uses meaningfully more metal than a two millimetre one. Our pricing adds for the extra width rather than hiding it, which is why this design sits higher than our petite bands in the same karat.

Does a low setting make the stone look smaller? No. The stone is the same size. It reads differently, sitting closer to the skin, which most people find more wearable day to day.

Will a wide band be uncomfortable? The interior is rounded and polished. Wide bands feel more secure to most wearers, though they do run slightly tighter, which is why sizing up is common.

Which metal should I choose? Yellow or rose gold to make the most of the wide polished face. White gold or sterling silver for a cooler modern look. For daily wear over decades, 14K balances colour and durability best.
