An emerald cut moissanite in four claws with a trillion cut moissanite on each side, points turned outward along the finger. The trillions are brilliant cut, so they flash and scatter light while the step cut centre stays calm and mirror like. That contrast between the two cutting styles is the whole idea of the design.

Trillions are a classic partner for an emerald cut because their straight edges sit flat against the long side of the centre stone with no wasted gap, and their outward points draw the eye lengthways down the finger. The band itself is left completely plain and slim, so nothing competes with the three stones.

We list each design separately. Our two tapered baguette three stone rings use step cut rectangular side stones that continue the flat lines of the centre. Our marquise side stone rings use pointed oval accents. This one uses trillions, which are triangular and brilliant cut, so the sides sparkle rather than reflect. It is the brightest of our three stone emerald cut rings and the one that reads widest across the finger, because the trillion points push outward rather than sitting tight against the girdle.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat, and the trillions are scaled in proportion so the three stones stay balanced at every size.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is cut, set and finished by our own team once you order. Trillions have sharp corners that need careful claw work, which is why we set them individually rather than sharing claws with the centre stone. If you would like larger or smaller trillions, or a heavier band, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and stands up to daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working under all three stones where light enters. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. The outer points of the trillions are the most exposed part of this ring, so take it off before manual work and have the claws checked by a jeweller once a year.

Resizing

The band is plain all the way round, so this ring resizes easily by one to two sizes in either direction. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. All three stones are moissanite, a gemstone in its own right. We do not describe it as a diamond.

What is a trillion cut? A triangular stone with three equal sides, cut with brilliant facets. It is one of the traditional side stone shapes for a rectangular centre because the flat edge sits neatly against the girdle.

Are the trillion points fragile? The points are the thinnest part of any triangular stone. Moissanite is hard and the claws cover each corner, but this is still a design to take off before heavy manual work.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. The plain shank means a straight band sits close, though the trillion points sit slightly proud, so a contoured band gives the flushest fit.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
