Emerald Cut Moissanite Step Cut Accent Three Quarter Band Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four plain claws above a band set with a continuous row of small step cut accents. The accents are laid across the band rather than along it, each one a miniature emerald cut in its own right, held between shared claws so that the row reads as one long line of rectangles broken by tiny points of metal. It runs about three quarters of the way round and stops before the underside of the finger.

There is nothing else on the ring. No milgrain, no halo, no decoration in the gallery, just a clean sweeping basket under the centre stone and the row of step cuts. The whole design is one idea repeated at two scales, which is why it sits so well with an emerald cut and looks unlike a ring set with round accents.

This ring is the only one in our emerald cut range that carries step cut accents all the way round the shoulders and down the sides. Step cuts flash rather than sparkle, so the whole ring behaves like the centre stone rather than competing with it.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold is shown here and gives the row of accents a strong outline, which suits the geometry of the design. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team once you order. Step cut accents are unforgiving to set because their straight edges show any misalignment immediately, so each stone is seated individually and the row is checked against a straight edge before the claws are tightened. If you would like the accents carried the full way round, or stopped earlier at the shoulders, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and holds up to daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Step cut stones show smudges more readily than brilliants because their large flat facets act like small mirrors, so this ring rewards a wipe with a soft cloth every few days. Have the shared claws checked once a year.

Resizing

The lower quarter of the band is plain, so this ring can be resized by one to two sizes. Beyond that the row of accents would have to be reworked. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never present it as a diamond.

What is a step cut? A cut with long parallel facets arranged in steps, like the centre stone. It gives broad flashes of light rather than the fine glitter of a brilliant cut.

Will the accents look dull next to the centre stone? No. They behave the same way as the centre stone, which is the point. If you want extra glitter, we can set round brilliants instead.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes, and it sits particularly flush because the band is flat topped. A plain band or a matching step cut band both work.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
