Emerald Cut Moissanite Shared Prong Floating Halo Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite ringed by a halo of unusually large round accents. Instead of the tiny pave most halos use, this one is built from stones you can see individually, held between shared claws with a small gap of open air between each pair. The result is a halo that scallops around the centre stone rather than forming a solid border, and it makes the emerald cut look considerably larger on the hand.

The same idea continues down the band. Five graduated rounds run along each shoulder in the same shared claw setting, largest nearest the halo and tapering as they go, each one lifted clear of the metal so light passes underneath. The back of the band is left as a plain polished wire.

How it compares to our other halo emerald cut rings

Every halo we make is listed separately because they wear very differently. Our octagonal pave halo uses tiny stones packed edge to edge into a solid frame. Our sunburst halo angles each accent outwards from the centre. Our hidden halo hides its second ring under the stone where only you can see it. This one is the boldest of the group: fewer stones, but each one large and spaced, so the halo has a rhythm to it rather than a smooth line. It also carries the most visible carat weight of any halo in our emerald cut range.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished, shown here, and it lets the halo and the centre stone read as one continuous piece of light. In yellow or rose gold the gaps between the halo stones become part of the pattern. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is built by our own team after you order. Shared claw work has no margin for error, because one claw holds two stones and both have to sit at exactly the same height, so this design is set by our most experienced hands. If you would prefer a tighter halo with smaller stones, or the shoulder accents left off, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. The open gaps under the accents make this ring easier to rinse clean than a solid pave halo. Dry with a soft cloth and have the shared claws checked once a year, since each one is doing the work of two.

Resizing

The back of the band is plain, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without disturbing the accents. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we do not describe it as a diamond.

Why are there gaps between the halo stones? That is the design. Larger stones set with air between them catch light from the sides as well as the top, and it gives the halo a scalloped outline rather than a solid ring.

Does a halo make the centre stone look bigger? Yes, noticeably, and more so here than with a fine pave halo because these accents are large enough to add real width to the outline.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band meets the plain back cleanly. At the front the halo sits proud, so a contoured band will fit closer if you want the two to touch.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
