Emerald Cut Moissanite Sculpted Willow Branch Solitaire Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four fine claws on a shank modelled as two willow branches wound loosely around one another. Slender leaf forms are sculpted directly into the metal at intervals along both branches, and the strands separate and rejoin with open gaps between them rather than lying flat. There is not a single accent stone anywhere on this ring. Every part of the design is worked into the metal itself.

Why this ring works

Nature inspired rings almost always reach for pave or marquise accents to suggest leaves. Doing it entirely in modelled metal is harder and it ages far better. There is nothing to work loose, nothing to reset, and nothing that goes grey when the ring needs cleaning. The leaves catch light on their curved surfaces the way a polished sculpture does, which reads as quieter and considerably more expensive than a scatter of small stones. Against a large step cut centre stone the effect is a single clean gem sitting in something that looks grown rather than manufactured.

Setting and band

Four fine claw prongs hold the corners of the emerald cut above an open gallery formed where the two branches meet. The shank is sculpted as a pair of willow branches that wind around one another with open gaps between the strands, with slender leaf forms modelled into the metal along their length. The branches taper and rejoin into a single band at the back. Combined width at the crossings is approximately two millimetres. Metal is solid throughout with a polished interior.

Metal options

Choose from recycled 925 sterling silver, or solid 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. White gold, as photographed, makes the design read as sculpture rather than botany, with the leaves catching light as pure form. Yellow gold pushes it back toward nature and reads warmer and more literal. Rose gold sits between the two. White gold is rhodium finished.

Ring sizing

Every ring is made to order in your size. Sizes run from 3 to 13, including half sizes. Because the branch pattern runs the full circumference, order the correct size rather than planning to resize later. Contact us if you are unsure and we will help before production starts.

Care

Sculpted branches with open gaps trap lint and soap film in the spaces between the strands. Clean every few weeks with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush, working the brush through the gaps from both sides and around each leaf form. Rinse and dry with a lint free cloth. With no accent stones there are no small claws to check.

Questions people ask

Are there any accent stones? None. The leaves and branches are entirely modelled in metal. That is the point of the design and it is why it needs no maintenance beyond cleaning.

Will the leaf detail wear down? Only slowly, and mostly on the underside where it rubs. A jeweller can sharpen the modelling if it ever softens, which is not possible with cast in stone settings.

Do the open gaps catch on things? The branches are rounded and polished with no sharp edges. It behaves much like any split shank in daily wear.

Which metal should I choose? White gold or sterling silver for a sculptural, modern reading. Yellow or rose gold for a warmer, more botanical one. For daily wear over decades, 14K balances colour and durability best.
