From directly above this looks like a straightforward pave solitaire: an emerald cut moissanite in four claws with a single row of round accents down each shoulder. What you do not see from that angle is the marquise work. One marquise moissanite lies flat against the shank on each side of the centre stone, and beneath the head a small cluster of marquise accents is set into the gallery, arranged like petals opening under the stone.

It is a design that changes as the hand moves. Straight on it is quiet and classic. Tilted towards the light the marquise stones catch first, because their long facets throw light in a different direction to the rounds around them.

Every design is listed separately. Our classic single row pave has round accents only and nothing under the head. Our vintage milgrain ring runs two rows and beads every edge. Our leaf gallery ring fills the gallery with pave set leaf frames rather than loose marquise stones. This is the one that mixes two accent shapes on a plain shank, and the only one where the marquise stones sit both beside the centre and beneath it. Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, never plated and never filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold is shown here and it gives the marquise petals a clearer outline against the stones around them. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team after you order. The marquise cluster under the head is set before the centre stone goes in, because once the stone is claw set there is no way back into that space. If you would prefer the gallery left open, or the marquise accents replaced with rounds, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and takes daily wear well. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working the brush upwards into the gallery where the marquise cluster sits, because that is where residue collects out of sight. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Have the pave and the marquise claws checked once a year.

Resizing

The back of the band is plain, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without touching the pave. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as a diamond.

Why put stones where nobody can see them? Because you can see them. Detail under the head is for the person wearing the ring, and it shows whenever the hand turns.

Do the marquise accents make the ring look wider? Slightly. Laid flat beside the centre stone they add a little length across the finger without adding a full side stone.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? Yes. The head is only lightly raised and the back of the shank is plain, so a straight band sits close.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
