Emerald Cut Moissanite Nature Inspired Twisted Vine Engagement Ring

Two slender strands of metal cross and wrap around each other to form the shank of this ring, the way a climbing vine winds around a branch. Where the strands separate they leave small open windows through the band, and where they meet they are tied off in little knots. Growing out of the vine are marquise cut moissanite set on the diagonal like leaves, and tiny round moissanite set in raised claws like buds. The emerald cut centre stone sits above it all in four claws.

The accents are not laid out in a straight row. They are staggered and tilted at slightly different angles, so the pattern never looks mechanical. From the side you can see straight through the open shank, which keeps a fairly substantial design looking light on the finger.

How it compares to our other nature inspired emerald cut rings

We list every design separately, so here is the difference. One of our other emerald cut rings uses many small marquise stones packed into a pierced openwork panel that sits flat against the finger. Another uses a single large marquise on each side, set into solid metal with no piercing at all. This one is different from both: the shank itself is the ornament. The metal splits into two strands that twist around each other, and the stones are scattered along that twist rather than being arranged into a panel or a symmetrical pair. If you want a ring that looks grown rather than built, this is the one to choose.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is finished with rhodium. Yellow gold suits this design particularly well because the warm metal reads like a vine. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat, with the vine and accents scaled in proportion at each size.

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is cut, set and finished by our own team once you order. Because we make each piece ourselves rather than buying it in, we can adjust the number of accents, the thickness of the vine or the finger size before we begin. Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and holds up to daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working the brush through the open sections of the vine where lotion and soap tend to collect. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Take the ring off before swimming, gardening or gym work, since an openwork shank can catch on gloves and fabric. Store it separately from harder stones.

Resizing

The vine pattern runs the full way round the band, so resizing is limited. We can usually manage half a size to one size. If you are between sizes it is better to tell us before we start, and we will make the ring to your exact measurement at no extra cost.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, which is its own gemstone. We do not describe it as a diamond or a diamond substitute.

Will the openwork collect dirt? It can, like any pierced design. A soft brush and warm soapy water once a month keeps the vine clean and the stones bright.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band will sit against the high points of the vine and leave small gaps. If you want a flush fit, a contoured or a matching vine band works better. We can make a matching band to order.

Are the accent stones the same on both sides? The layout is deliberately asymmetric, which is part of the design. Both sides carry marquise leaves and round buds, but they are not mirror images.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price is shown when you choose a combination.
