Emerald Cut Moissanite Marquise Vine Twist Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four claws, with a single marquise cut moissanite lying flat against each side like a leaf. Below the head the shank breaks into several slim strands that cross over and under each other in an open vine twist, and one of those strands carries a line of pave down each shoulder while the rest stay plain and polished.

What separates this from a simple twisted band is the number of strands. Because there are more than two, the twist never closes up; there are always open gaps between the strands where light passes straight through. Set against that, the two marquise leaves are the only large accents on the ring, and they sit exactly where the shank meets the stone.

How it compares to our other emerald cut vine rings

We list every design separately. Our twisted vine ring uses two strands and scatters many small marquise leaves and round buds along the whole shank, with no pave anywhere. Our woven braid ring weaves the strands tightly and finishes each shoulder with a petal cluster. This one is different again: several strands rather than two, one line of pave rather than none, and just two marquise leaves placed right beside the centre stone instead of many spread along the band. It is the most open of the three and the one where the centre stone sits most clearly on its own.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold, as photographed, makes the strands read as vine; in white gold the same shape reads as an abstract knot. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat, with the marquise leaves scaled in proportion.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team once you order. The strands are formed and crossed first, then the pave and the marquise leaves are set. If you would like more leaves, no pave, or a tighter twist, tell us in the order notes before we begin.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and copes with daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working the brush right through the open gaps in the twist and around the marquise claws. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An open twist can catch on knitwear, so take the ring off before pulling on a jumper or wearing gloves.

Resizing

The strands rejoin at the back, so this ring can usually be resized by one size in either direction. Beyond that the twist distorts. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right. We do not describe it as a diamond.

Is this a three stone ring? Not in the traditional sense. The two marquise are accents set flat against the centre stone rather than matched side stones of their own, and they are considerably smaller.

Do the open gaps make the ring weak? No. The strands are joined where they cross and rejoin fully at the back, so the shank is stronger than it looks. It is still worth taking off for heavy manual work.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band sits well against the plain back but leaves gaps under the twist. A contoured band or wearing this ring on its own suits the design better.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
