Emerald Cut Moissanite Halo Infinity Twist Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite framed by a rectangular halo of round brilliant accents that follows the outline of the centre stone exactly, corner for corner. Below the halo the band splits into two strands that cross over each other in an infinity twist, one strand set with pave and the other left plain and polished, so the two catch light in different ways as the ring moves. Where the strands meet the head, a marquise accent sits on each side.

The halo is what makes the centre stone look larger. Because it is rectangular rather than rounded, it reads as a continuation of the emerald cut rather than a ring of stones sitting around it, and the whole head presents as one bright rectangle on the finger. The twist below keeps the ring from looking heavy, since you can see straight through the openings between the two strands.

Our octagonal halo rings use a frame with cut corners that sits closer to the stone; some of those have a plain band, one has a large shared claw frame, one uses a fine pave bezel. This ring is different in two ways. The halo here is a true rectangle that traces the emerald outline square at the corners, and the shank is a split infinity twist rather than a single band. It is the most decorated emerald cut halo we list, and it wears higher on the finger than the others.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished and is the metal shown in the photographs, because a white metal makes the halo blend into the centre stone and maximises the size effect. In yellow or rose gold the halo reads as a distinct golden frame instead, which some people prefer. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat with the halo scaled to match.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is cut, set and finished by our own team once you order. A rectangular halo has to be set with the corners square and even, which takes longer than a rounded halo and is why this design has a slightly longer lead time. If you want the halo omitted, the twist made plain, or the profile lowered, tell us in the order notes before we start.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and holds up to daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working the brush underneath the halo and through the openings in the twist, since those are the places that trap lotion and soap. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Take the ring off before swimming, gardening or gym work. Because the profile is raised, this ring catches on knitwear more than a low set design, so it is worth taking off before pulling on a jumper.

Resizing

The back of the band is plain, so this ring can usually be resized by one size in either direction. Beyond that the twist starts to distort. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, its own gemstone. We do not describe it as a diamond.

Does the halo make the stone look bigger? Yes, noticeably. A rectangular halo on a 2 carat emerald cut gives roughly the face up appearance of a stone half a size to a full size larger, depending on the halo stone size.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band will leave a gap under the raised halo. A contoured or curved band follows the twist and sits flush; we can make one to match.

Is the pave on both strands? No. One strand carries the pave and the other is left plain and polished. That contrast is deliberate and is what makes the twist readable from a distance.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you choose a combination.
