Emerald Cut Moissanite Crossover Split Shank Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite in four rounded claws, sitting above a shank that splits into two strands and crosses over itself on each shoulder. Where the strands meet the head, a short run of three graduated round moissanite is claw set into one strand, largest closest to the centre stone and stepping down from there. Underneath the centre stone a hidden halo of small round moissanite runs around the base.

Most of the metal on this ring is left completely plain and polished. The accents appear only at the two points where the strands cross, which is what gives the design its rhythm: two bright flashes at the shoulders, then clean bare metal all the way round the finger. It is a quieter, more architectural take on a split shank than a fully pave set one.

We list every design separately. Our hidden halo pave twist ring runs continuous pave along both spiralling strands, so the shoulders read as unbroken lines of sparkle. Our rectangular halo infinity twist adds a full visible halo on top of a similar shank. This ring is the plainest of the three below the head: the crossing strands are polished bare metal, and the only stones on the shoulders are two short graduated runs of three. If you like a split shank but find full pave too busy, this is the version to choose.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished and is the metal shown here, which suits the design because the polished crossing strands read as clean lines. In yellow or rose gold the crossover becomes more prominent and the ring looks warmer and softer. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Every ring is made by our own team once you order. The two strands are formed and crossed before the accents go in, and the hidden halo is set before the centre stone. If you would like more accents along the shoulders, the hidden halo left out, or a heavier shank, tell us in the order notes before we start.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and copes well with daily wear. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, working the brush through the gaps where the strands cross and underneath the head where the hidden halo sits. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Take the ring off before swimming, gardening or gym work. Polished bare metal shows fine scratches over time; we can repolish whenever you like.

Resizing

The back of the band is a single plain strand, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without disturbing the crossover or the accents. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right. We do not describe it as a diamond.

Where exactly is the hidden halo? Around the base of the centre stone, below the girdle. You cannot see it from directly above; it shows when the hand turns.

Why only three accent stones per side? The design is meant to be mostly plain metal. Three graduated stones mark the point where the strands cross without turning the shoulders into a pave band.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band sits well against the single plain strand at the back but will leave a small gap under the crossover. A contoured band follows the split more closely.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
