Emerald Cut Moissanite Cathedral Leaf Gallery Pave Engagement Ring

An emerald cut moissanite raised on cathedral shoulders, with sculpted leaf forms unfurling from both sides of the stone. Each leaf is a pointed metal frame filled with bead set round moissanite, so the accents follow the shape of the leaf instead of sitting in a straight line. Look down at the ring and the leaves fan out around the centre stone. Look at it from the side and you find more of them worked into the gallery beneath the head, where most rings show only plain metal.

The band divides just below the shoulders into two strands. One carries a tapering row of pave, the other is left polished and dotted with small graduated metal beads, and the two run beside each other before rejoining at the back of the finger.

How it compares to our other leaf and vine emerald cut rings

Every design is listed on its own. Our sculpted leaf ring uses solid metal leaves with no stones set in them. Our vine ring runs marquise moissanite along an open two strand shank as though they were buds. Our botanical scatter ring covers the shoulders in mixed shapes at irregular angles. This one is the only design in the group that puts leaves in the gallery as well as on top, so there is something to find when the ring is seen from the side. It also sits highest on the finger of the four.

Metals and sizes

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose and white. All gold is solid, not plated and not filled. White gold is rhodium finished. Yellow gold is shown here and suits the design because the leaf frames read clearly against the stones. Centre stone sizes run from 2 carat to 5 carat.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India. Each ring is built by our own team after you order. The leaf frames are shaped and then filled with stones one at a time, which is slow work and the reason this design takes a little longer than a plain solitaire. If you would like the gallery left open and undecorated, or the second strand set with pave to match the first, tell us in the order notes before we start.

Care

Moissanite is 9.25 on the Mohs scale and wears well every day. Clean with warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, paying attention to the underside where the gallery leaves can hold soap. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Because the setting is tall, take the ring off before sport or heavy manual work, and have the beads checked once a year.

Resizing

The back of the band is plain, so this ring resizes by one to two sizes without touching the leaves or the pave. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure of the finger size and we will help you measure.

Questions people ask

Is the centre stone a diamond? No. Every stone in this ring is moissanite, a gemstone in its own right, and we never describe it as anything else.

Are the leaves separate pieces soldered on? No. They are formed as part of the head and shoulders, so there are no joins to come loose.

Does the cathedral setting sit very high? Higher than a plain solitaire, yes. That is what allows the gallery leaves to be seen. If you want a lower ring for everyday wear, tell us and we will reduce the rise.

Can I wear a wedding band with it? A straight band meets the plain back cleanly. At the front the split shank and leaves will leave a small gap, so a contoured band or wearing this ring on its own works best.

Does the price change with carat size? Yes. The 2 carat is the base price and each larger size adds a small amount. The exact price appears when you select a combination.
