Emerald Cut Moissanite Three Stone Ring with Baguettes

An emerald cut flanked by baguettes: three step cuts, one calm line of light. The most Art Deco way to wear moissanite.

Written by the Mapple Gems workshop, Surat Β· Updated 13 October 2026

Short answer: This ring sets an emerald cut moissanite between two baguette side stones. All three are step cuts, so the ring shows broad, glassy flashes rather than rainbow sparkle β€” the calmest look moissanite can have. It is made to order in 925 silver or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, from 2 carats (8.5 Γ— 6.5 mm) to 5 carats (11 Γ— 9 mm).

Most three stone rings mix brilliant and step cuts for contrast. This one keeps everything in the step-cut family, so the head reads as one unbroken architectural line. It looks Art Deco, quiet and very elegant. Our latest order was the 2 carat in sterling silver.

Emerald cut moissanite ring with baguette side stones, angled view

All step cuts: what it means

Three stone style Sparkle Look
All brilliant (e.g. three radiants) Lively, colourful Glamorous
Brilliant centre, step sides Lively centre, calm sides Contrasting
All step cut (this ring) Broad, glassy flashes Art Deco, architectural

Moissanite’s dispersion is 0.104, more than twice diamond’s, and it shows strongly in brilliant cuts. Step cuts show the least of it. If you love moissanite’s hardness (Mohs 9.25) and value but want the calmest possible look, this is the design.

Corners and matching

Step cuts have corners, and corners are where stones are vulnerable: the emerald has four cropped corners and each baguette has four square ones. Each should sit under metal. Step cuts are also a window β€” they show the quality of cutting clearly β€” so ask for a video of the three stones together in ordinary light before setting. Moissanite isn’t lab graded, so matching is done by eye.

From the workshop

Our latest customer chose the 2 carat (8.5 Γ— 6.5 mm) in sterling silver. At that size an all-step-cut ring is subtle and very wearable. The baguettes add width and presence without adding rainbow, which is a quieter way to make an emerald cut look larger than a halo would be. In silver (about Mohs 2.6), the small prongs at the baguette corners are the parts that wear first; check them every few months and have them looked at yearly.

Before you order: a short checklist

  1. Ask for the total width across all three stones and do a paper test.
  2. Confirm every corner is protected on the CAD preview.
  3. See the three stones together on video in ordinary light.
  4. Choose 14K gold for daily wear; silver for trying the design.
  5. Plan a band; three stone heads rarely sit flush with a straight one.

Frequently asked questions

What is a step cut?

A cut with long, flat, parallel facets, like the emerald cut and the baguette. It shows broad flashes rather than glitter.

Does this ring show rainbow fire?

Very little. All three stones are step cuts, which show the least of moissanite’s coloured fire.

What sizes does it come in?

Seven centre sizes, from 2 carats (8.5 Γ— 6.5 mm) to 5 carats (11 Γ— 9 mm).

Are baguette corners fragile?

Corners are the weakest points of any step cut. Each should sit under metal; check this on the CAD preview.

Is this an Art Deco design?

It is inspired by it: geometric step cuts in a clean line were a hallmark of the period.
