East-West Emerald Cut Moissanite Half Bezel Minimalist Ring
An emerald cut turned sideways, held by metal on two sides only. The most minimal of our east-west designs, and how it compares with the full bezel.

Short answer: This ring sets an emerald cut moissanite east-west β across the finger β in a half bezel, with metal on two sides and the other two open. It is made to order in 925 silver or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, from 2 carats (8.5 Γ 6.5 mm) to 5 carats (11 Γ 9 mm). It is lighter and more open than our full bezel east-west ring; ask that the bezel covers all four corners.
Minimalism is about taking things away. This ring keeps only what the stone needs: two curved walls of metal, a sideways emerald cut and a plain band. The open sides let more light into the stone and make the ring look lighter. Our latest order was the 2.5 carat (9 Γ 7 mm) in sterling silver.
Half bezel or full bezel, east-west
| Half bezel (this ring) | Full bezel | |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Light, open, minimal | Framed, graphic |
| Light into the stone | Through the open sides | Mostly from the top |
| Protection | Two sides, plus corners if wrapped | All round |
| Visible stone size | Slightly more | Rim covers a little edge |
For the fully framed version, see our east-west emerald full bezel ring.
How wide it sits
Set east-west, the stoneβs length runs across the finger: about 8.5 mm at 2 carats, 9 mm at 2.5, 10 mm at 4 and 11 mm at 5, plus a little bezel. On slimmer fingers the larger sizes reach the neighbouring fingers. Lay a paper rectangle across the finger before choosing.
From the workshop
Our latest customer chose the 2.5 carat in sterling silver. The one detail we would always confirm on a half bezel emerald cut is the corners. An emerald cutβs four cropped corners are its weak points, and the bezel walls should curve far enough round to cover them. You can see this on the CAD preview from above. In silver (about Mohs 2.6) a bezel is a good choice because there are no thin claws to wear, and the plain band can be resized easily later.
Before you order: a short checklist
- Confirm the bezel covers all four corners on the CAD.
- Lay a paper rectangle across your finger at your chosen size.
- Ask for a video of the stone in ordinary light.
- Ask for band thickness at the base: 1.8 mm or more.
- Pair it with a plain or east-west bezel band.

Is a half bezel secure?
Yes, when the walls wrap round the corners. Confirm this on the CAD preview.
How wide is a 2.5 carat east-west emerald cut?
The stone is 9 Γ 7 mm, so it spans about 9 mm across the finger.
Half bezel or full bezel?
Half bezel for a lighter, more open look; full bezel for maximum protection and a framed look.
Can it be resized?
Yes. The band is plain, so normal resizing is straightforward.
