Marquise Moissanite Curved Stacking Band: A Buyer’s Guide

A band that bends around your engagement ring instead of bumping into it. How curved bands work, and how to make sure one fits yours.

Written by the Mapple Gems workshop, Surat Β· Updated 13 October 2026

Short answer: This vintage-style band curves in the middle, with a marquise moissanite at its centre and pavΓ© along each side (about 0.40 ct total). The curve lets it nest around an engagement ring’s head where a straight band would leave a gap. It is made to order in 925 silver or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold. Check the curve against your ring’s head before ordering.

Many engagement rings β€” halos, three stones, wide heads β€” never sit flush beside a straight band. A curved band solves that by dipping or arching around the head. This one makes the curve a feature, with a small marquise at its peak that echoes vintage designs. Our latest order was in 14K yellow gold.

Which engagement rings it suits

Engagement ring Straight band Curved band
Plain solitaire, low head Sits flush Decorative, not needed
Halo Gap or rubbing Nests around the halo
Three stone or wide head Gap Usually nests
Pear or marquise solitaire Gap at the point Follows the shape

A curve only fits if it matches the head. The width and depth of the curve should be a little larger than the widest part of your engagement ring’s head where it meets the band. Send a side photo of your ring, or its head width in millimetres, before ordering.

From the workshop

Our latest customer chose this band in 14K yellow gold. The most common mistake with curved bands is buying one for a ring it was not shaped for; the curve either sits too far away, leaving a gap, or presses on the halo. If your engagement ring was made by us, tell us which design it is and we can shape the curve to it. If not, a side photo with a ruler next to the ring tells us what we need. Worn on its own or on the right hand, the curved band also stands up well as a small statement ring.

Before you order: a short checklist

  1. Measure your engagement ring’s head width, or send a side photo with a ruler.
  2. Match the band’s metal and karat to the engagement ring.
  3. Size the pair together.
  4. Store the two rings separately to avoid scratching.
  5. Consider ordering the band with your engagement ring so they are fitted together.

Frequently asked questions

What is a curved wedding band?

A band shaped with a curve in the middle so it fits around an engagement ring’s head instead of leaving a gap.

Will it fit my engagement ring?

It fits rings whose head width matches the curve. Send your ring’s head width or a side photo before ordering.

Can I wear it on its own?

Yes. Its marquise centre makes it a small statement ring on its own or on the right hand.

How many carats is the band?

About 0.40 carats in total.

Does a curved band suit a solitaire?

It can, as a decorative choice, but a plain solitaire usually takes a straight band flush.
