Step 1
Design & Selection
We finalise your design and hand-pick the certified center stone.
Save 20%A teal moissanite held in a vine and branch setting, where the shank divides into slender organic arms that curve up around the stone rather than meeting it as a plain band. The setting suits a coloured stone particularly well: the openwork lets light through from behind, and teal is a colour that changes character with the light reaching it, shifting between green and blue depending on the angle. This is a moissanite ring rather than a diamond ring, and it is described as one. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four stone sizes.
The vine arms carry small accent stones along their length. The centre stone is the only coloured stone in the design.
Moissanite is silicon carbide, not carbon, so it is a different material from diamond rather than a lesser grade of one. It is 9.25 on the Mohs scale against a diamond's 10, which makes it very hard wearing and suitable for daily wear. Its refractive index is actually higher than diamond, so it throws more coloured fire, which some people love and others find too much. It does not come with an IGI diamond certificate because that grading applies to diamonds, and it is not sold as a diamond at any point on this page.
Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold warms teal and pushes it toward green; white gold keeps it cooler and lets the blue read more strongly. On an openwork setting like this the metal is a large part of the design, so the choice matters more than on a plain band. For everyday wear 14K is harder than 18K.
Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. If you are unsure, measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear or ask us for a free size guide before ordering. An openwork gallery is more difficult to resize than a plain band, so an accurate size at the outset matters more here.
We can set the same design with a colourless lab grown diamond, a different coloured moissanite, or change the stone shape. For any other request please contact us at https://mapplegems.com/pages/contact and we will quote it before you order.
Is moissanite the same as diamond?
No. It is a different mineral, silicon carbide rather than carbon, and we do not describe it as a diamond. It is extremely hard at 9.25 on the Mohs scale and holds up to daily wear, but it is its own stone with its own look, notably more colourful fire than a diamond.
Is the teal colour natural or added?
Moissanite is lab created, so the colour is produced during growth rather than applied afterwards. It goes through the whole stone and does not wear off or fade.
Will the teal look the same in every light?
No, and that is much of the appeal. Teal sits between blue and green and reads differently in daylight, indoor light and against different metals. If an exact shade matters to you, contact us before ordering rather than relying on a photograph.
Is the openwork setting fragile?
The vine arms are finer than a solid shank, so this is a design to take off for manual work and sport. It is not delicate in normal wear, but it has more surfaces to catch than a plain band.
How do I clean it?
Warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, paying attention to the openwork where dust collects. Avoid harsh chemicals.
Does it come with a certificate?
Not a diamond certificate. We can supply a gemstone identification report on request.
How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time.
