Six claws on a round stone is an old convention with a straightforward reason behind it. The girdle of a round diamond is a continuous circle, and the longer the unsupported span between claws, the more the stone can pivot if the ring takes a knock on one edge. Six claws halve those spans compared with four. The old objection was that six points of metal cut into the outline more than four, which is answered here by drawing each claw thin and tapering it to a fine tip, so the eye reads six small bright marks rather than six lumps. Under the girdle the basket wall carries a concealed halo, which does something useful on a six claw head in particular. Six claws create six shadowed gaps between them, and a row of small stones running behind those gaps fills them with light rather than leaving them dark.

Band details

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Are six claws better than four
On a large round stone, yes, because they support the girdle over shorter spans. On a small stone four is usually preferable because it hides less of the outline.

What is the hidden halo doing between the claws
Six claws leave six shadowed gaps around the base of the stone. The concealed row fills those gaps with light instead of metal shadow.

Will the ring catch on clothing
The claws are tapered and burnished smooth, and the head is kept as low as the pavilion allows.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The band carries no stones.

How long does the ring take to make
