Round Cut Lab Grown Diamond Vintage Leaf Halo Engagement Ring in Silver, 10K, 14K and 18K Gold

A round brilliant laboratory grown diamond framed by a milgrain edged halo, with a pair of diamond set leaf motifs spreading out from each side of the head onto a slim band. From the side, the leaves curve up to cradle the halo like a bud, and every edge is finished with fine beading for a delicate vintage texture.

The leaf motif

On either side of the halo sits a pair of little leaves, each outlined in milgrain and set with diamonds. They widen the head without making it heavy, and they give the ring a botanical, garden inspired character. Seen in profile, the leaves wrap up and around the halo, so the ring is as pretty from the side as from above.

How it differs from our other round vintage halos

Our scalloped, milgrain and split shank round halos keep their detail in the halo or band. This one adds leaf shaped side motifs that extend the head across the finger, giving it a softer, more floral outline.

What laboratory grown means here

A laboratory grown diamond is a diamond. It is crystallised carbon with the same cubic structure, the same 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index of 2.42 and the same dispersion as a mined stone. Ours are grown by chemical vapour deposition and high pressure high temperature methods, then cut and polished by hand. This is not moissanite, not cubic zirconia and not a simulant. A gemmologist testing it will read diamond, because it is diamond.

Metals

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow and rose gold bring out the botanical vintage feel. 10K is the hardest alloy, 14K is the everyday balance, and 18K is the richest colour but the softest metal. White gold is rhodium plated and will want replating every one to two years.

Every centre stone arrives IGI certified

The centre diamond is graded by IGI, the International Gemological Institute, and the certificate comes with the ring at no extra charge. It states the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade, the measurements and the girdle inscription, and confirms in writing that the stone is laboratory grown.

Made to order in our own workshop

Mapple Gems is a family run workshop in Surat, India, where most of the world's diamonds are cut and polished. The halo and leaves are built around your round, and the milgrain is applied by hand. Allow two to three weeks for making, plus shipping.

Looking after it

Warm water, mild washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush. Brush gently around the halo and between the leaves. Take it off for the gym, gardening and swimming.

Questions we are asked

What colour and clarity is the diamond? Every centre stone is E colour and VVS2 clarity, on every metal and every carat weight. The halo and leaf diamonds are matched to the same grade.

Is this a genuine antique? No. It is newly made to order in a vintage inspired style.

Are the leaves raised? They sit just below the halo and curve with the finger, so they do not catch easily.

Will a wedding band sit flush? A curved band suits the wide head best.

Can it be resized? Within limits. A plain section at the base allows adjustment.
