A round brilliant lab grown diamond in a six prong head, flanked by clusters of small round accents scattered in an organic, deliberately uneven arrangement rather than a straight line. The accents vary in size and sit at slightly different heights and angles, which is what gives the design its drifted, grown-in-place look instead of the symmetry of a conventional pave shoulder. Beyond the clusters the shank returns to a fine plain band, so the whole weight of the design stays around the centre stone. Every diamond is a laboratory grown diamond, identical in carbon structure, hardness and brilliance to a mined diamond, graded E colour and VVS2 clarity. What is a scattered cluster engagement ring

It is a setting where small accent diamonds are placed in loose, asymmetric groups around the centre stone rather than in an even row. The stones differ in size and spacing on purpose. The effect is softer and more organic than pave, and because the accents are individually prong set with metal visible between them, the ring catches light in scattered points rather than one continuous line.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond

Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index and the same fire and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled laboratory over a few weeks instead of underground over billions of years. No jeweller can tell the difference by eye, only specialist equipment reading growth patterns can separate the two.

Will a wedding band sit flush against this ring

Not perfectly, because the accent clusters sit slightly proud of the shank on both sides. Most customers either wear a band on the other hand, choose a contoured band that curves around the clusters, or wear a plain band with a small deliberate gap. We can make a matching contoured band shaped to this specific ring, just ask when you order.

Does this ring come with a certificate

Yes. Every ring ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone. IGI is the International Gemological Institute, one of the largest independent diamond grading laboratories in the world. The certificate confirms the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade and the laboratory grown origin. There is no extra charge for the certificate.

Why choose a round brilliant over a fancy shape

The round brilliant is cut to maximise the return of light through the top of the stone, so carat for carat it is the brightest of all diamond shapes. It is also the most forgiving of colour and clarity, because the intensity of its sparkle disguises small differences. If you want maximum fire rather than an unusual outline, round remains the benchmark.

What does E colour VVS2 actually mean

E colour is the second highest grade on the diamond colour scale and sits inside the colourless range, so the diamond looks bright white with no warm or yellow tint. VVS2 means very very slightly included, the second highest clarity tier. Any inclusions are so small that a trained grader needs 10x magnification to find them and they are completely invisible to the naked eye.

Every piece is made to order, so nothing is pulled off a shelf. Production takes about 10 to 12 working days and shipping is 3 to 5 working days after that with tracked international courier. We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery on unworn pieces in original condition.
